New fig and apricot frozen yogurt @ Appolo

Appolo (Tseung Kwan O)
I love the frozen yoghurts at Appolo, they taste natrual and it is just frozen yoghurt blended with frozen fruits.

Fig and apricot frozen yogurt:The fig and apricot was a new flavour that costs $40.

I felt that it was a bit too expensive for an Appolo product because their products are usually cheap.
At $40 is costs more than some of the icecreams at LabMade.
It seems that they are slowly rebranding and making their products more deluxe such as the new ice-cream rolls.

Anyway, when it was made, they put more apricot than fig into the bowl.
They only put one small whole fig in it.

As for the taste, the apricot was more prominent and the fig was not that apparent but you could taste the occasional sweetness and seeds from the fig.

Kudzu and fig healthdrink @ Original Taste Workshop

I like figs so got this drink, its weird they have this ingredient in HK, since it is grown in middle eastern parts of the world.

Anyway, the main ingredients in this drink are Kudzu vine and fig, but according to the ingredient label it also contains: pear, sugar cane, licquorice, logan, red jujube and sugar.

When you drink it, there is a strong Kudzu grassy taste and then the sweetness of the fig, initially it wasnt that syrupy, then getting through half the bottle it got more sugary.
It was nice, but I would have preferred it sugar-free and perhaps just plainly Kudzu and fig without the other ingredients.

Good old home comfort @ Pizza Express

Even though I knew there was an offer on groupon for Pizza Express I did not get it.

Anyway, dined here before the the groupon offer started.

Pizza Express has always been good for Pizza and I always have it in the UK.

Ordered a pizza, pasta and a dessert.

For the pizza base there are two types, in the UK I usually have the thinnest one (Romana), however in Hong Kong they advised on the classic pizza base, so I had that.

Sloppy Giuseppe pizza:
Hot spiced beef with red onions and green peppers.
Overall this pizza tasted really nice, but I really regretted not getting the romana base, the same one as I had in the UK.
Although the classic base is thin, it is not as thin as the Romana one.
The beef was finely grounded and evenly distributed on the pizza and the spicyness was just right.

Farfalle con Salsiccia
This was Italian sausage crumbled with bow-shaped pasta, cooked in white wine, rosemary, cream and chilli, finished
with grana padano cheese.
Although it looked really creamy it was not, and the cheese was really nice.

Fig Tart
This was soft almond tart baked with figs served warm with a spoon of mascarpone.
There was also ice-cream instead of mascarpone but I felt that ice-cream was sweet so I stuck with mascarpone.
The mascarpone was a really good match with the tart because it was dense and creamy a bit like clotted cream.
The fig tart was actually like a buttery cake with figs in it.
I really liked this tart.
