Color Your Day, The Purple Way by [Starbucks]

[Starbucks] have launched a series of Purple treats to Colour your day!!
In this series, there are: Ube Pudding, Lavender Chiffon Cake, Purple Potato Tart, Blueberry Croissant and Lemon Lavender Scone.

I only tried the Ube Pudding and the Purple Potato Tart because I am not a fan of Lavender.
++++++++++
Purple Potato Tart:

The purple potato tart tasted better than the ube pudding.

Strangely, it had more taro taste in the custard than purple potato.
The only thing I didn't like was the hard tart base as it was too thick and you can see that the thickness was as thick as the filling.

The tart base was also too buttery in taste.
++++++++++
Ube Pudding:

Starbucks Puddings have been successful and now they have the new ube flavour.
In the past, they had caramel, Sakura, Green Tea, Chocolate and other flavours in Japan.
They didn't have the sleeve label so I wasn't able to see what ingredients were inside.
(Later found out from Starbucks website)

The ube pudding was smooth and not too sweet but the ube flavour was not that strong
Similar to the Purple Potato Tart, there were purple potato cubes in it.

Overall, it was quite a nice silky pudding contrasted by the cubes of purple potato.

Orange Honeycomb Crunch Frappuccino : Starbucks Coffee, Hong Kong

Went to Starbucks because of some new drinks.
There was this new drink called Orange Honeycomb Crunch Frappuccino and some other drinks blended with fresh banana.

Tried the Orange Honeycomb Crunch Frappuccino which has a natural orange taste at first followed by an artificial TicTac orange aftertaste.
If you happen to get burps later on, you will get nasty orange burps!

Tiny lasagne from Starbucks

tThis branch of starbucks is rather annoying, sometimes it is empty and sometimes people abuse the seating when they are waiting for the sushi place nearby.

On this visit I had the lasagne and tea.

The portion of lasagne was incredibly small but it was delicious.
There were layers of meaty bolognaise sauce on top of layers of pasta sheets.

As usual the Earl Grey tea was good because it was leafy and aromatic.

Starbucks deformed red velvet cake

Although LLWL has reviewed this, I still wanted to try it even though I knew the taste was going to be bad.
There were quite a few in the cabinet and one was deformed with the filling exposed.

I knew I was going to served the deformed one but I couldn't be bothered to ask her for a different one as I knew it wasn't going to taste good.

Here was my deformed red velvet cake.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
deformed red velvet cake:

The taste was weird, and the cake was dense and mushy with a strong buttery smell and taste.
As it was deformed the filling was not runny but it a thick paste!
There are no other words to describe the taste other than a dough taste with smelly butter.
It reminded me of Kid's Calpol fever medicine which is thick and has a bright pink colour.
For Xmas I would have appreciated berries and not red beans on top because I hate red beans!
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Although the cake was crap, the Xmas drinkware was quite nice.

My favourite one!

Starbucks new Green tea and chestnut loaf

Saw photos of this new green tea loaf so decided to get it.

When I got to the WTC, the Starbucks on the ground floor has closed and there was a new one on the fourth floor with seats surrounding the escalators.

Luckily, there was still one piece left.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Green tea and chestnut loaf:

To be honest, I could not taste or see any chestnuts.
However, there were lots of fragrant roasted walnuts and the green tea loaf had a nice cakey taste with green tea flavouring that was not grassy.
The edges were a little bit dry but after adding some cream from the mocha, the green tea loaf tasted amazing.

Starbucks Vanilla cream frappe

Needed something icy to cool down so contemplated on the green tea frappe or the vanilla cream frappe.
Since I tried the green tea, I decided to try the vanilla.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Vanilla cream frappe:

Basically it tastes like a vanilla icecream milkshake but it is not that creamy with lots of cooling fine ice crystals in it.
As I was really hot, I loved all those ice crystals, but I found it a bit too sweet.

Garden spinach muffin from Starbucks

Starbucks serves the same food and drink at every branch, but to me it is just a place to kill time.

This time I dined at the Caine Road branch, with IPC Foodlab and Eric Kayser opposite.

It was lovely and relaxing at this branch.

I tried the garden spinach muffin which was a savoury muffin with young green spinach, broccolis, green beans and cheese.

The muffin was green because of the spinach.

I loved the taste of this muffin because it was truly savoury and cheesy with a peppery kick to it.
It was heated as well which brought out the lovely cheesy aroma.

Starbucks Brie and Ham croissant

Starbucks Coffee (Causeway Bay)
Went back for the mocha with the white chocolate pudding and saw the croissant, so got that as well.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Dark Mocha White Chocolate Pudding Frappuccino blended beverage:

The dark mocha did not have strong coffee taste which was great and in the drink there where bits of solid chocolate to chew on.
The white chocolate pudding was nice because it balanced out the mocha taste and it was creamy and tasted like Nestle's milky bar chocolate.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Ham and Brie croissant:
I did not feel like eating meat that day, so I took out the ham, the croissant and the brie alone were delicious, and the brie was creamy and soft.
It would probably taste better heated up.
