Blueberry tart @ Arome bakery

Although the blueberry tart was a bit too sweet, it was actually delicious.

I loved the crust because was not too buttery and the tart was filled with a layer of cake, a thin layer of chocolate and cream topped with glazed blueberries.

Lemon tart @ Pacific coffee

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Lemon tart:

Made the mistake of ordering this because visually it looked normal but the taste was foul.
The lemon taste was artificial and I could taste lemongrass in it as well.

Anatomy of a Chinese fruit tart @ Maxims

The fruit tart was monstrous and hard to get from the box when it was amongst other cakes unless you have big hands and long fingers, otherwise your hand is going to get sticky.
It looked difficult to eat so I didn’t bother eating it the normal way.

Instead I used a spoon and ate the fruit first which were: blueberries, mango, strawberries and kiwi.
Luckily the kiwi was sweet and the mango was not too sweet because I do not like mango.
Beneath the fruit I found a tiny square block of cake which was used as a pillar for the fruit placement and the cream was used to adhere the fruit to it.
The sweet soft sponge was fixed to the base of the tart by melted chocolate.
The tart base was quite shallow but the base was really thick and sweet.
I felt that the tart base was the sweetest item out of the fruit, cake and cream.
I still prefer the normal Western tarts with custard at the bottom, which are not so monstrous and not so messy to eat!
It seems the Chinese fruit tart version has cake in it as well and they like to pile up the fruit to make it look grand to make up for the custard.

Creme brulee tart @ La Rose Noire Bakery

As usual the products here do not disappoint.

The creme brulee tart was a new item so I tried it.
It literally tastes like a flattened egg tart but much better because it was topped with crushed pistachios, dessicated coconuts and glazed.
The pastry was flakey, delicate and gently flavoured with butter and sugar.

Sweet Sweet experience @ 小店 Copacabana

Ordered three desserts: apple tart, napoleon and chocolate pudding with sauce.

The apple tart was the best, thin flat tart with custart in the middle and topped with apple slices on top, and covered in icing sugar. The base of the tart was flaky filo pastry. I thought the ice-cream was optional, even without, it would still taste good.

As for the napoleon, the pastry was a bit heavy, and the custard was a bit rich, not as light as the apple tart.

Finally for the chocolate pudding, I expected it to taste like the usual chocolate puddings with hot chocolate sauce in the middle, so there was no surprise with that one.

Overall, all three desserts were well presented and garnished with strawberries, and artistic chocolate sauce drawn on the plate.

Almond caramel mousse tart @ Teresa Festival

A classy shop in the midst of Queen's Road East, but not that noticeable.
Anyway it looks like a Victorian shop, rather than a cake shop.

I ordered a Almond caramel mousse tart to takeaway, I thought it was not really worth that price, basically it is flavoured cream topped with crushed Almond, not mousse at all on a dark chocolate base tart base.

Scrumptious seasonal vegetable tart @ Pacific Coffee

Saw this cute vegetable tart, and had to try it, despite I already decided to try something else.

The vegetable tart looked so fun, a mediterannean colourful medly of vegetables: Aubergine, red onions, baby sweetcorn, olives, pumpkin, red pepper, button mushroom, courgette, yellow cherry tomato, red cherry tomato.

It was very fun to eat, and tasted strong of italian herbs. I was expecting a bland tart, but it was packed with more flavour than imagined.

But in general anything tastes good at Pacific Coffee.

Apple lattice and apple tart @ Pomme

It was quite a small cake shop, hence it was hidden by the other shops beside it.

The seating inside there probably caters for 12 (thats guessing from memory).

They serve apple lattice, apple tart, fairy cakes.
I wanted to try the banana custard but it was either sold out or not made.

I ordered the apple lattice and apple tart.
The apple lattice tasted better than the apple tart.
The apple tart was filled with apples and raisins with apple slices at the top.
