Hello Kitty series at Maxim's Bakery 美心西餅

I'm not really a fan of Hello Kitty but tried it anyway as it was affordable and some of the bakery products in the series looked delicious.

Strawberry burger:

Savoury burger:
Apple cheese tart:
Sugar and Cinnamon Toast:
On this visit, got the toast and bread.
I'm not a fan of Maxims bread but this cute little this loaf was filled with red beans and cream cheese.
Out of all the products, I liked the toast most because it was just simply Hello Kitty's head with sugar and cinnamon.
I love the taste of sugar and cinnamon so therefore I liked it.
It was a little soft but it didn't bother me.

Toasted cheese and mushroom sandwich

On my previous visit, the toasted cheese was not that good because they put a mixture of two cheeses.

Anyway, the latest review had mushrooms in it and the cheese was decent so I went back for the cheese toast and added mushrooms as well.

toasted cheese and mushroom:

This was sensational because the cheese was soft and gooey with tasty slices of mushrooms in it.
The toast was slightly burnt but the cheese was just amazing that it was forgivable.
Hopefully, the cheese will be consistent on my next visit.

Chinese sloppy joe

As I was tasting in the area, I decided to try this famous eatery.

[Thanks for Mjqueen7e for sending me the address.]

This place serves simple macaroni, noodles and toasts.

One of the items was quite interesting!
FRIED NOODLES, I wonder if it is noodles literally deep fried!

The chili sauce was quite funny, the lid was a sauce dish.

Anyway, ordered the famous beef and egg toast from the ex-TV actor.

The toasts were prepared in the tiny kitchen.

beef and egg toast:

It was the usual wonky shaped toast without the edges because no one eats the edges in Hong Kong.

Inside the sandwich, it was filled with moist minced beef in gravy in the form of a messy omelette.

The moist beef in gravy filling in the toast is unique which makes it famous.
The taste of egg and minced beef with a hint of sweetness was really nice but the beef has bits and pieces that could not be chewed which was the only thing that ruined it.
It was also hard to eat because the filling kept falling out which reminded me of Sloppy joe which also has minced beef.

Cheese and ham toast @ La Rose Noire Bakery

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Cheese and ham toast:

I have always wanted to try this but every time I go to La Rose Noire Bakery, they are always on display and it seems they have been sitting there for half a day.
Luckily they heat it up for you but I still prefer them freshly done and ready to go because after they are heated up the cheese is hard.
The toast and cheese was slightly hard and dry as expected but it still tasted quite nice because it was cheddar and ham on toast.

Toast with honey and whipped cream @ Hero

After my first visit to the Sheung Wan branch of Hero I have been craving for another visit.

I have been to Central about four times attempting to dine here but I could not find it because it is actually located on Wellington street and not Lynhurst terrace.
I liked this branch because it had a fun and hip atmosphere compared to the Shenug Wan Branch, the SW branch has a more serious atmosphere for entrepreneurs and people wearing suits, whereas this branch is run by ABCs and caucasians.

I ordered the toast with whipped cream and honey with an iced coffee.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Toast with honey and whipped cream:
They served the honey separate because I requested it separate so that I could control the sweetness myself.
The toast was thicker than I imagined and it was cut into four pretty square cubes each with cream on top.
It looked slightly different to the product shot which was not cut into four pieces but the way they served it looked nice.
I did not use the honey because the cream was sweet and the crispy toast tasted really nice with the airy light whipped cream.

Iced coffee:
The coffee tasted nice but it was too milky for my liking.
