[3 ITALIANI] Italian gelato in Causeway Bay

3 ITALIANI meaning three Italians is obviously opened by three Italians.

At 3 ITALIANI, you can expect a good choice of authentic Italian gelato, chocolate and coffee.

There are 30 different flavours of gelato and sorbet.
(20 traditional Italian flavours and 10 Asian flavour on offer in Hong Kong).

They are made in store everyday, free from preservatives, syrups and colouring which can be seen behind the glass.

There are 5 flavours exclusively created for Hong Kong: 3 Italiani (mango, coconut and sponge cake), Chocolate Wasabi, English Trifle, Crema Antica and Chocolate sorbet.
The chocolate sorbet is an interesting one because it still tastes of strong chocolate without the milk.
Clearly English Trifle was my favourite being English.
It is slightly different to the trifle with custard and jelly because it had cherries, dark choc, red velvet cakes, small amount of liqueur but it was still good.
The best thing is that you can add whipped cream to it which I did.
Great coffee:
Also tried the waffle with nutella and cream, a great dessert to share:

NOODLEs or WAFFLEs! Waffills

Went past Waffills because I wanted to check out Belgos and other eateries around the area and discovered that Waffills had this noodle waffle and other new savoury items.
I was quite amazed with this new creation, noodles in the shape of a waffle!

++++++++
Fried waffle noodles:

The presentation was really fun and creativity is endless because they can also put rice in it and make waffle shaped rice!
Anyway, I loved it because it was soft noodles in the middle with a slight crispiness on the surface. It tasted a bit like noodles in oyster sauce with a hint of spiciness which could have been stronger and the spring onions gave it a nice flavour.
The texture and taste is a bit like the chiuchow style crispy noodles but better because it is not dipped in sugar.
There was also liver terrine with it to make the noodles richer and silkier but it tasted great with or without because the noodles were in a carrot ginger sauce.

+++++++++
Lollipops:
As well as the noodles, this was divine because the goose liver and waffil bread were just perfect together and the apple balanced the heaviness of the goose liver terrine.
The waffil bread was crisp with a slight chew and is similar to pitta bread but better because there is an even crispiness and structure to it.

+++++++++
Possible Taco:

The pork was good on its own without the sauces but after adding sauces, it tasted even better with a fuller flavour because the sauces were bold and strong.

Urban icecream waffill [Waffills]

Went here again because I wanted to try the Urban icecream waffill.

The place was packed.
Started off with the Waffle with hazelnuts and icecream because I really miss their traditional waffle which was light and crispy.

Then I had the new Urban icecream waffill.

It was filled with delicious icecream, caramel bits and banana, the taste was really similar to one of the milkshakes that they serve.
The waffle wrap was firm and had a nice chew to it which held the waffle and icecream together.

Waffles filled with apricot

Haven't been here for a while but suddenly remembered this place for waffles when I saw them listed as a openrice finalist for the Best Restaurant Awards

Waffle filled with apricot:

Previously I have tried the apple version and this one is an improvement.
The apricot filling is just as good as the apple but this time there were less white chocolate shavings so it was not cloyingly sweet and there was a good layer of cream which complimented the waffle and apricot filling.

Then I tried two chocolate waffles which were made with Belgian chocolate.
They look like Liege waffles but they are not and have a chocolate brownie soft mushy texture. Personally I like them with cream but dessert and sweet tooth lovers will probably like it with icecream.

Waffles with a purple centre at Summer Ice

Came here for the purple waffles.
They were pretty and would make a great post on instagram to get likes.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Purple waffles:

I am not quite sure what the hype is but I found them too hard and dry but this is the way the locals like their waffles. HARD!

The waffles were definitely sweet but you couldn't really taste the purple potatoes.

I will be back for the sweet potato latte so that I can compare it to the one at Gaba concept.
