Green tea warabi mochi from Hana Musubi

The warabi mochis were soft and sweet with a firm jelly texture covered in grassy green tea powder.

☆Kitchen J☆azzed up better than before

Previously this restaurant used to be Watami but now it has turned into Kitchen J which is also part of the Watami catering group.
The interior is much better than before and out of place for Hang Hau.
It reminds me of Applegreen in causeway bay because of the plain wooden furnishings.
As it was part of the Watami group, I did not check the menu before going in. I expected it to be similar or a high-end version of Watami.

Anyway I started browsing the menu, and I was disappointed with the choices, there were many but limited.
It was curry, scrambled eggs or fried bentos.
I didn’t want to order the set because I didn’t think I would like the salad or the soup and if I am not full I would prefer to order dessert and drinks as well because the set does not include a drink.

I liked their drinks and dessert selection but it was quite expensive and the set does not include a drink or give you an option to pay extra or upgrade.
In the end I ordered Hamburger steak with Ponzu sauceand Deep fried Oysters with scrambled eggs.

The food took quite a long time to come.
For those two dishes, one tasted like heaven and the other one was not my cup of tea.
I came here twice and the same dish tasted so different, the first time it was delicious and the second time I did not like it at all.
While I was waiting I saw this lid that looked similar to the ones used in Morroccan dishes!
Morrocan?
Morrocan?

Clear soup:
It was nice that they gave clear soup instead of Miso because Miso leaves me feeling thirsty.
The soup had a hint of pepper and sesame with a few pieces of seaweed at the bottom.

Salad:
The portion was quite big and had some tuna and egg yolk mixture which went well with the salad and the deep fried shredded tofu skin gave it more crunch.

Hamburger steak with Ponzu sauce:
The beef was heaven on my first visit, It was strong with flavour and the sauce on top was really refreshing.
I felt that there could have been more rice as the beef patty was huge. There were no elastic bits in it. However on my second visit, the beef was horrible, there was so many elastic bits in the patty.

Deep fried Oysters with scrambled eggs:
The scrambled egg was not what I was expecting, it was just a fried beaten egg omlette floating on the sweet sauce.
The sauce was disgusting, it was so sweet it ruined the oysters and the oysters soaked up the sweet sauce and went soggy.

Warabi mochi with black honey and soft ice-cream:
The ice-cream looked yellow on the product shot so I thought it might have a strong custard flavour to it, but the sweetness and flavour was bland, the warabi mochi was nice and soft.

To try list: On my next visit, I want to try the matcha mixed with soda because it seems good pairing the bitterness of the matcha with sweet soda.
