[Café Life Patisserie & Cafe] Full of Life

Cafe Life started off at PMQ and now they have a bigger and spacious joint on QRC.
All their cakes are Japanese style and everything is so pretty.
Sakura Chiffon Cake:

Sakura Cookies:

Sakura Napolean:

The only thing is that, they could do with more tables to cope with people ordering toasts and other things that really need a table.

At the moment, Sakura is trending and on the menu.
Tried the Sakura roll which was delicate filled with fresh cream.

It was so good that I had the strawberry cake which also uses that deliciously whipped fresh cream.

Finished with the Sakura tea which you just don't want to add the Sakura foam cap because the flower at the bottom is so dainty and decorative.

The milk cap blends in perfectly and I think it had some slight saltiness to it.

[Momo Cafe] The ultimate crab pizza

As well as good food, there are two cute guys which are double trouble because they are twins.
Went there for a gathering as the tables are spacious and the decor is stylish as well.

The menu is clear and comprehensive.

Here was what we had: Started with the Port Wine Beef cheeks which were served on a bed of silky mash.
The beef cheeks were soft and gelatinous in this rich port wine sauce.

Next was the crab pizza ordered by my friend. I didn't have any expectations because I thought it was just going to be pizza with crab meat but when it came it just got stole everyone's attention as it was literally a whole crab on top of the pizza.

It was convenient to eat because the crab had already been chopped up.
I took the crab shell thinking there was tomalley but it had totally cleaned out so I thought it was just there for decoration but it turns out they put the tomalley on the pizza so it was evilicious with all that cheese, crab tomalley and orange roe.
Although it was quite heavy, there was basil leaves to freshen it up.

Last but not least was the Suckling Pig which was soft and tender while the skin was crispy.

Overall, I really enjoyed the dinner and I was surprised at the quality and creativity at MoMo Pizza.Pasta.Beer.

[Little Birdy] Aussie chicks alert!!

My friend told me about this place so I had to go and check it out because I love chicken.

It is slightly different to Roast chicken and potatoes but they had my favourite chips with chicken salt!
They use free range chicken that are hormone free according to their website.

Since this place specializes in chicken, I had to have chicken with chips but they have the Birdy pack which also includes a salad and chips so I got the pack.
For salads, there were so many choices!
The chicken was roasted perfectly and fuss free while the chips were so good with that chicken salt sprinkled on it.

I purposely paired it with the detox salad which is cabbage and carrots.

My friend had the DG's chicken and waffle with additional small Romaine salad.
Small romaine salad:

Finished with the Iced Tea and Lemonade with Cayenne Pepper.

The lemonade was spicier than I imagined.

Plastic straws are not used here which is quite good.
It is good to see another Aussie joint in Hong Kong!

Souper duper soups at Souprb

There are lots of options for Chinese soups in Sheungwan like Soupreme 湯品小棧, Souper Authentic 球哥燉湯 and 靚湯王 at Dor dor eatery (with rude service) but NONE for Western soups unless you go all the way to TALLORE in Wanchai.

Finally Souprb has popped up serving soups with 5 choices which they change every week. The soup choices were impressive because there were 4/5 that I wanted to try: pumpkin, beetroot, Mexican chicken, portobello and chestnut, Prawn and crab gumbo (premium choice +$10)

As a soup fan, I got the tasting set which comes with two soups while my friend got the Stew set which comes with rice and a curry. They also had toasties which I really really wanted to eat as well.

We both added $30 for the made to order freshly pressed juices which were refreshing but a bit too sweet.

+++++++++
Tasting set:
Prawn and crab gumbo soup + Mexican chicken

+++++++++
Stew set:
curry, rice and chestnut and portobello mushroom soup

The curry was Japanese curry served with Japanese rice.

+++++++++
As for the soups, the chestnut portobello mushroom was really good, it was thick and there were so much mushrooms and chestnuts in it.
The gumbo was a little disappointing because the cajun and spiciness was not strong enough and there were bits of shell in the soup.
The Mexican chicken tasted like Chinese style borscht soup with chicken added to it.
Will definitely be back for the toasties but the tasting set was not very filling, but then I probably have a big appetite.

[CheckCheckCin] Healthy and stylish drinks

In Hong Kong I rarely get too many choices for drinks that I can't decide but here I found it hard to pick a drink because there were four I wanted to try which is a good sign.

They specialize in Traditional Chinese herbal medicine where they have turned them into healthy and delicious drinks with a young twist from the packaging to the store outlook with cute pastel colours.

They even had yoghurt drinks made with real yoghurt, not the weird tasting Calpis or Yakult which is laced with sugar.

Anyway, I decided to go for the Nourishing Raspberry almond milk which was a surprisingly wonderful combination.

I had it hot (served warm), any hotter than and that I don't think it would taste nice.
To my amazement it had real raspberries in it, not sure if they were fresh or frozen but at least they were not the dehydrated ones.
There should be more raspberries in the picture but it tasted so good I drank half of it before I took pictures.

Not to mention the benefits for health, I loved the taste because it was so natural especially the raspberry and you could taste hints of almond as well without being too milky.
Normally milk doesn't mix with sour berries but in this case almond milk does.
The beauty is that this drink tastes good hot or cold so it depends on what mood you're in.

I was back again for the banana yoghurt rice water, secret rice water, detox fig leaves tea with dried longan and warming apple cinnamon oolong tea which I purchased at different visits when I was in Sheungwan.

[Coffeeholic] Great food as well as Coffee

Recently discovered that this joint served enticing food so decided to try it out.

The decor inside is nice with a touch of French and English, while there are some French/Italian inspired dishes on the menu.

As the ground floor was full, we were seated upstairs.

Ordered the Italian braised beef, All day breakfast, Japanese matcha latte and Pink Himalayan sea salted caramel latte.
Despite the joint was busy, the food came extremely fast!!
++++++
All day breakfast:

I was looking forward to this and it was definitely good so I ate everything.

Rarely do I order breakfasts in HK because restaurants just put crap together like fake sausages and other weird stuff but everything on this plate was delicious.There was a hot spring egg, green salad, Pain de Mie, potato truffle salad, tornado wedges and avocado salad. I love potatoes so it was great there was potato salad as well as wedges.
The wedges were fried perfectly so they were not wasted and I even put some egg yolk and avocado on it to make it evilicious.

The potato salad was divine, they were not too soft and starchy with a potato taste as well as truffle.
I loved the way the salad was jazzed up with tasty sundried tomatoes and yummy macadamia nuts.

++++++
Italian braised beef:

A nice dish of braised beef in tomato sauce, again paired with these delicious tornado wedges and healthy avocado salad.
++++++
Japanese matcha latte:

The matcha latte is served with a side of Okinawa black sugar but it tasted good without so I didn't need it.
It had a pleasant taste without being too grassy or bitter and the sakura flower spoon is so pretty.
++++++
Pink Himalayan sea salted caramel latte:

Beautifully presented and the foamed cap was lovely with a decent saltiness to compliment the latte.
++++++
Finished with warm brownies.
Both were good especially the chocolate.
