Apple turnover at ground public

The apple turnover was really buttery that you could smell it and the greasiness seeped through the base of paper bag and made it transparent.

Anyway, the puff pastry was too thick and the butter taste was too strong.
The apple filling fared better because it was quite tart but it was apple puree and not pieces of apple.

A very messy mini softserve cone from Softree

Softree is a Korean brand of softserve.

They serve softserve with a variety of choices including:
honey comb
chocolate
candyfloss
guerande salt

In Korea, they have mini sweet potatoes as well which are probably expensive to import, hence not on the menu.
It is nice that they have guerande salt on the menu because their competitors don't have it.

As I was having dinner later that night, I got the mini cone just to see what the softserve tastes like.

There are two mini cone flavours: Strawberry or chocolate.

Mini cone:

To be honest the mini cone is cute but they gave me too much softserve which made it top heavy and extremely difficult to handle.
Hopefully they will give me less next time so that the softserve will be proportional to the cone which would look really cute.

It was already dripping when they gave it to me so it was really fiddly to eat.
The softserve tasted like the ones that you buy from the icecream van.
It was sweet and milky but not thick.

Sweet potato raisin bun at Crostini Bakery & Cafe

Crostini Bakery & Cafe (Tseung Kwan O)

Crostini has a European style outlook and their bakeries look European as well.

However, the cakes and bakeries have been modified to adapt Asian Tastes with a little touch of Taiwanese flare to it.
The price is about right because the food is localized and not properly European.

Sweet potato bun with raisin and cranberries:

The sweet potato could not be tasted because it was just sweet potato powder dusted on a white bun with raisins and cranberries.
It had the usual Asian bun texture where it was soft but not springy.

Really nice owner and he speaks Chinese at Kashmir Curry House

Kashmir Curry House (Mong Kok)

I was in the area but the last thing I wanted to eat would be Chinese food, so I settled for Indian food!

Palak (spinach) curry is always my favourite, but there were two choices, one was cheese and one was potatoes.

In the end I settled for cheese.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Palak paneer :

The curry was really hot so had a wait a while for it to cool now.
I was amazed to find so much cheese in it because other places don't give you that much and the cubes are not this big!!

The curry was spicier than I anticipated but delicious.

Naan bread:

The naan bread was lovely and chewy with a delicious crispy surface.

Chicken burger and onsen egg curry at CoCo Ichibanya

Chicken burger and onsen egg curry
CoCo Ichibanya (Causeway Bay)
Had my favourite curry again, this time tried the chicken burger stuff with an onsen egg in the middle.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chicken burger and onsen egg curry:
When it came, it looked really nice.

The egg yolk and white was really delicious with the curry because it made the texture even more viscous but the only thing that let it down was that the curry was too salty.
Unfortunately the chicken burger had a strong charred taste which I did not like and it had chicken gristles in it too.

Jam Bakery back to square one!!

Thanks to MKK for getting me these cookies from Jam Bakery.

Jam Bakery started off in Tai Hang, moved nearby to Fortress Hill and now they are back at Tai Hang again!

After having dinner with MKK we walked past it in Tai Hang which is a few streets from where it used to be.

Earl grey cookies :

The cookies were buttery and firm.
They had a really fragrant earl grey taste with pieces of tea leaves in the cookie.

Lychee and coconut froyo from Appolo

The froyo here is rather addictive and the portions are big!!!

It is really good that you can choose two fruits to be blended in the froyo.

This time I chose lychee and coconut.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Lychee and coconut froyo:

The coconut taste was rather strong so you couldn't really taste the lychee, it was like coarse pieces of dessicated coconut in the froyo which felt a bit gritty.
When I did taste the lychee, it had a really fragrant sweet taste.
The combination of lychee and coconut resulted in a rather sweet tasting froyo.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★

Next time I am going to choose pineapple and coconut.
