[Review] Wagamama Shirodashi Ramen

Wagamama is a British chain that has been around since 1992 founded by Alan Yau.
I used to go there a lot many years ago but less recently as there has been more choices.
It is good to see that Wagamama is still going strong.

The last time I had Wagamama was at the airport because the breakfast was exclusive there.

Recently went back to Wagamama because I have forgotten how it tastes after having countless ramens and noodles in Hong Kong.

The current menu is much more extensive compared to when it first began and they even cater for vegans.

Charcoal noodles are also on the menu.

For veganuary they are doing the vegan tuna.

On this visit, I had the Shirodashi Ramen which has slow cooked seasoned pork belly on top of noodles in a rich chicken broth with dashi and miso, topped with seasonal greens, menma, spring onions, wakame and half a tea-stained egg.

The ramen was a bit soft and breaks in half when picked up but overall it was good loaded with wakame but the broth was a bit too spicy for my liking but according to the menu it isn't supposed to be spicy.

[Review] Vegan Steak bake at Greggs for Veganuary in UK

As soon as it was the 2nd of January, I was on the look out for Greggs steakbake.
It was sold out in Tunbridge wells so I had to try again the next time I was out.

From the posts I had already seen, it was said to be salty and the filling is similar to meat pie so I was expecting the filling to be similar to Greggs vegan sausage roll but darker in colour.
Finally got the vegan steak bake which was piping hot from the cabinet.

Took a few bites until I got to the filling and I was quite surprised the filling was thick and moist, nothing like the previous posts, so I think they have improved it.
The filling looked like bolognese sauce which was good and it wasn't as salty as I anticipated which was mentioned in earlier posts.

Overall, it was quite nice and more comforting because the filling is delicious and I could taste onions in it which complemented it nicely.

[Review] Meatless Meatballs at Subway for Veganuary in UK

Subway has also launched something meatless for Veganuary so I decided to try it.
They were offering meatless meatballs in the form of a sub or just as a snack.

Since I have already eaten something beforehand, I just had the meatballs with vegan cheese.

The vegan cheese came in the form of slices and they melted like normal cheese.

I was won over by the cheese because of the texture and taste but the meatballs were a bit disappointing as they were firm and tasteless like Beyond Meatballs.

According to the the reply by Subway_UKI on instagram they use meatless meatballs by Nestle and vegan cheese from Violife.

The Opera House, Tunbridge Wells

I am not fond of JD Weatherspoons but visited The Opera House because of the fact it was an opera house turned pub.
You get to eat on stage and appreciate the views of the seating on the balcony and the opera house surroundings.

As well as The opera house, The Counting House used to be owned by the Bank of Scotland where you can eat in the vault!
The Chief Justice of the Common Pleas has a cell while you can dine in a church at The West Kirk, Ayr.

[Review] £2.49 Pizza deal at Dominos

Pizzas takeaways are getting cheaper and more competitive these days not to mention sourdough pizzas which are also trending.

At Dominos, you can now get a pizza deal with two toppings for 2.49 from 12-4pm.
If you google this, you will find that it was only 1.99 some time ago!

Anyway, tried this pizza deal and it was not bad.
The quality is just your usual pizza while the taste depends on what you chose!
The pizza is sliced which makes it convenient to eat.
