White curry @ Satay King

Didn’t know what to have for dinner, so decided to eat at Satay King, the food here is always good if you pick the right stuff.
On the way there, the queue to the elevator was long, I was expecting it to be quite full on arrival, however on arrival, the restaurant was only 70% full, so got a seat without waiting.

As a basic choice, I always go for the white curry, tastes consistent every time, this time I chose the Japanese crunchy chicken to go with it, when it arrived it was a bit different to how I imagined it to be.
The Chinese description was “K Chui chicken”, so I thought it would be like chicken nuggets in steak form, but instead it was fried pieces of chicken, the chicken tasted better than I thought, it tasted like chicken dipped in red beancurd sauce and deep fried.
The white curry is always as good as usual, and it was good the sauce and chicken was separated.

The chicken curry set came with fried salt and pepper tofu and passion fruit tea.
The tofu was a bit soft and silky, I would have preferred the firmer type, and as for the drink it was quite good, not artificial fruit essence.

As for the other starters, one was a mistake, it was called Golden potato, which I should of guessed was sweet potato not lovely savoury potato.
Then also had the clams in black bean sauce, which was surprisingly good for a place like that, it was slightly gritty, otherwise it was good.

Finally the prawn cakes were a bit over fried, and a bit boring too, the prawn patty was tasteless.
