Cheap cha chaan teng grub for less than HK$35

Went past and saw this menu.

It made me look twice because the prices were so cheap!

There were noodles for $25 or $23 depending on what you choose.

Went in and sat down.
The other items on the menu were also cheap too!
They had Wonton style noodles starting from $16 and the most expensive item was $35.

In the end I got some junk food for $25.

noodles with chicken wings:

I classify this as junk food the same way Chinese people classify chips and fried chicken as junk food.
The strands of noodles were nice and thin, each strand was evenly coated with oil and soy sauce.
The taste was slightly rancid but the chili sauce balanced it out.

chili oil:

One drop of this could kill you because it was super hot!

Banana straciatella gelato

2/3 Dolci (Wan Chai)

I was going to a tasting nearby and was half an hour early so decided to get a gelato from Dolci.

Usually I get the pistachio but decided to try the Banana straciatella gelato instead.
I expected it to be good because it was going have real bananas in it just like their pistachio gelato.

Banana straciatella gelato:

Stracciatella is a milk-based gelato that is filled with fine, irregular chips of chocolate.
The colour was natrual and I loved the pieces of chocolate because it tastes better than having banana flavoured with cocoa.

The taste was natural, it was light with a touch of banana and irregular pieces of crisp sweet chocolate.
It had a lovely smooth, thick and sticky texture which was a mix of gelato and sorbet.

Easter series:

Water:

It was considerate of them to give me a glass of hot water after having some gelato.

Toastie sandwich and other interesting finds at Yamazaki

I don't often go into Yamazaki but as I had lots of time at Kowloon Tong station, I pondered in.

I saw this interesting sandwich in the cabinet which looked like a toastie but it was not toasted.

As well as that, there was camembert puffs which were tempting.

In the end I got the sandwich toastie and an apple and yoghurt bun.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Tuna and potato sandwiche:

I was expecting sweet tasting tuna but it was filled with creamy and delicious tuna and potato filling.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
apple and yoghurt bun:

The apple and yoghurt bun was also good because it was not cloyingly sweet and it had delicious crisp pieces of apple in it.

Southern style fried chicken

Fried chicken has suddenly become popular because of some Korean series.

Anyway, I am not a fan of Korean food so I don't have this urge to visit all those Korean restaurants in TST.
Instead I went to restoration for all you can eat fried chicken which is available on Mondays only!!!
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Gravy:

Creamy white gravy which is different to the British.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Soup:

A hearty soup which had lots of macaroni and vegetables.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Fried chicken and biscuits:

The fried chicken was very flavoursome because the coating had a lot of spices including thyme.

Birthday congee

Freshlodge Limited (Sheung Wan)

Thanks to <<IVY>> and Mjqueen7e for taking me here for my birthday.

I really wanted to try their congee after reading Ivy's review because the congee is not any normal congee.

This restaurant specializes in seafood but serves congee too!
Normally people will have congee when they are sick and there are restaurants that specialize in congee.

Seeing CRAB ROE CONGEE in big letters in English amongst the other dishes oddly stood out because the other dishes were Western and Japanese.

After ordering, they give you a bottle with a number so they know which table to bring the food to.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chegworth valley drinks:

Great juices from the UK.
The apple and rhubarb one I had was really nice and refreshing.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Crab roe congee:

Amazing congee that was definitely delicious.
It was rich with lots of crab meat and tasty crab roe which gave the congee even more flavour.
There were pieces of sweetcorn and pork in the congee.

Cold reheated croissant

Pacific Coffee Company (Kowloon Tong)

Had to grab something quick, so got the croissant.

I asked them to reheat it for me but unfortunately it will still cold.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Butter croissant:

The good thing was that it came with butter but the butter was too hard and could not be spread.
Anyway, I had the croissant without the butter and it could have tasted better because if it was heated properly, it would have been softer and flakier.
The taste of the croissant was ok, it was buttery and not too oily.

Not yummy anymore

Yummy Fast Food (Wan Chai)

Came here randomly and got their rice rolls again.

The service on this visit was not that good because when you ordered, the waitress didn't acknowledge or even reply you.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Rice rolls:

The rice rolls were tasteless because there was hot oil over poured on top of it which made the soy sauce slide off the rice rolls.
The oil made it taste horrible too because it was rancid.
