Koli South Croydon: New smash burger and piri piri joint

Another burger joint has popped up in South Croydon called Koli so I had to give it a try.
They specialize in smash burgers and piri piri chicken.
Smash burgers are basically patties that are flattened or smashed by they are being grilled which gives it that lovely crispy edge.
As they have just opened so still in teething stages with the branding, packaging to food.
I got the cheese burger which was quite affordable at 3.99.
You have that lovely crispy edge and you can taste the beef which is not gamey.
The burger box is a bit too small for it though but I am sure they will get bigger boxes to accomodate.
Was hoping to try the lemon and herb chicken because they said the sauce comes from Africa but not available due to unstable supply issues so I will be back.

[Review] Chicken Mayo burger at McDonalds on Lewisham High Street

Went to Lewisham and felt a bit hungry so had the chicken mayo burger as it was only 99p.
Compared to the Hong Kong McDonalds Chicken burger, the UK version was so damn good.
The shape is the same just like your regular burger whereas the Hong Kong version is oval shaped because the patty is oval shaped.
The lettuce in the UK burger is shredded but the Hong Kong version is more like tiny random pieces of lettuce which make it bothersome to eat.
As for the mayo, the UK version is so much nicer as it has more tangyness to it like sourcream while the Hong Kong mayo is just sweet.
Last but not least is the chicken patty, the UK version is round and thin while the Hong Kong patty is thicker and oval shaped laced with weird black pepper.

[Restaurant Review] Halloumi Burger at Burger King UK

The Halloumi Burger at Burger King was launched last summer in 2019 for a while to test the market.
It is now back again so I decided to try it.
There are three different versions: Single, Double and Spicy.

Again I went to Stratford's Burger King because it was cheaper.

Halloumi is a Greek Cheese that is white and very different to your regular cheese because the texture is firm with a chew.
Most Halloumi burgers I have tried have grilled Halloumi but the one at Burger King is deep fried.

The Halloumi burger at Burger King looked quite nice with mayonnaise, lettuce, onions and tomatoes.
Taking a bite, the halloumi was quite tough and chewy but tasted good with the creamy mayonnaise and onions so ordering the single halloumi was wise as two would be too much to chew on.

Overall, I liked it more than the Rebel Whopper because it just tasted weird.

[Restaurant Review] Rebel Burger at Burger King UK

I have always wanted to try the vegetarian rebel burger from Burger King since it is an international chain.
You will find that the US uses the Impossible Patty while UK serves a plant based patty by the Vegetarian Butcher.

In a way I was glad that the patty in UK was different because I have already tried the Impossible elsewhere.

Prices are different at different locations for Burger King in UK so it makes sense to try it where it is cheapest.
I don't know what the cheapest price was but I went to Stratford because it was cheaper than the two in Croydon.

Well, the rebel burger looked the part but unfortunately I was disappointed with the patty itself because it was tasteless and I didn't like the texture.

[Review] KFC's Festive Burger

KFC has launched some festive items for Christmas.

Tried the new Festive Burger which is packed with a succulent Original Recipe fillet, a crispy hash brown, a delicious sage and onion stuffing mayo and topped with a tangy cranberry dressing and a layer of cheese.

Overall, the festive burger is worth trying because the cranberry sauce is really good and compliments the chicken.

The only complaint were the fries because there was no festive flavoured seasoning like the product shot but they were just ordinary fries.
