Tried two new flavours at Lab Made which are made with Ribena.
These flavours are available until the 5th August.
++++++++++++++++++
Peanut Butter & Ribena Jelly Ice-cream:
There was extra cream on mine because I requested for more.
The pairing of peanut butter and Ribena was surprisingly delicious because the saltiness of the peanut butter and the berry taste of Ribena was really nice.
++++++++++++++++++
Diced & Iced Apple Ribena Sorbet:
This was more refreshing and girls will love this because it has lots of diced apples in it.

Lovely syringe gimmick
Honestly I came here because of the syringe!!!!
Oddies Foodies is also doing a dessert served with a syringe but the queue is endless which is why I came here.
The idea of using syringes as a gimmick would be absurb to the older Chinese generation because the Chinese culture is very superstitious about hospitals and anything related to it.
They try to avoid the taboo if it can be avoided.
Sometimes, when people talk about a morbid subject, they will mutter something like "choi" [o彩過你把口] or ask them to spit it out and say it again because they fear it will bring them harm or illness.
Things have now changed and the younger generation are more open to ideas and things like plastic pills which are commonly used in designs and decorations.
Anyway, lets talk about the really cool dessert.
I ordered the apple crumble which came with a syringe filled is jam!!
The icecream was really smooth and milky, the taste was bland but very buttery, after adding the jam and eating it with the crumbs and pieces of apple, it was really nice because all the tastes went together and the sweetness was just right.
I loved the pieces of apple because they were crisp with a hint of cinammon.
I was expecting an ordinary syringe (possibly a novelty one) but it was a real medical one by a reputable brand called Terumo.
The syringes that they use for the dessert are sterile and come in sealed packs which indicate one time use only because in the medical world they must be disposed safely after use to prevent needlestick injuries and contamination.
Terumo is a Japanese medical equipment company which specializes in Intravenous catheters, Infusion sets, Artificial heart and lungs, Blood glucose and blood pressure monitoring systems, Blood transfusion-related products, Oncology safety products, Peripheral stents and Oxygenators.
So if you are a Medical professional, you should know about these Medical directories called Medi-Bank Drug and Equipment found in hospitals and clinics for looking up dosage information, medicines, pharmaceutical companies and medical equipment.
[Apart from Medi-Bank, there are other publications available such as the BNF and MIMs for medicinal information but personally I find Medi-Bank easier to use because of the colourful tab sections.]

Dessert time at Ice Pop
Went here again because my friends wanted to try the icecream with the syringe which I tried earlier.
There were two more different flavours this time so tried it as well.
The lemon cake which I was hoping to try was sold out so tried the yuzu cheesecake and the tropical cheesecake.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Yuzu cheesecake: and the Tropical cheesecake:
Both were dense and creamy, but I preferred the tropical because it had a stronger taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Apple crumble:
It was just as nice as before and the taste of the icecream was milky which went well with the delicious apple pieces
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Gingerbread:
There was a strong ginger and cinnamon taste but it was quite sweet

Icecream at Icepop
Went again for icecream and this time had the Belgian chocolate and apple crumble but I requested for no crumbles because I found it too buttery.
The chocolate was rich with a slight bitterness and the apple was as good as ever because the taste of the icecream was light and not too sweet.

【When Grill-A-Corn meets Lab Made】
Lab Made has done it again!!
This time mixing Calbee's Grill-A-Corn with their sweetcorn soup based icecream which is available from now until 17th December.
They have drizzled it with caramel sauce to balance out the savoriness for those who are not ready for the unusual taste.
For me, I really liked it, especially without the sauce because I like things either savory or sweet but not mixed together because it is a bit weird.
The new icecream is definitely good because it tasted proper savoury with a strong natrual sweetcorn taste with a hint of maize which comes from the crisps.

Another option for Nitrogen ice cream in Hong Kong
ICE POP Nitrogen Ice-cream (Causeway Bay)
As well as successful Labmade, there is now Ice Pop, not to mention two other pathetic ones which kept running out of Nitrogen whilst the other one just gave you the usual icecream pretending it was Nitrogen icecream.
Anyway, ICE POP is located opposite Tiger Curry on Pennington Street.
It is spacious serving drinks and cakes as well.
There were four flavours that day and I tried the bubble tea and tofu.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Bubble tea:
Basically it tasted like a mix of Hong Style milk tea with a strong earl grey flavour with the usual bitter aftertaste of Hong Kong style tea.
So if you like Hong Kong style tea, this would be the flavour to choose.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Tofu with seasalt and mochi:
Personally the tofu was my favourite because I like tofu and it had a decent soybean taste but the sweetness was a bit sweet.
The one I had did not have castella cake or mochi in it as seen on other photos.

Lab Made 2nd year anniversary
The flavours this time were quite impressive, so tried three out of the four.
-Ginger tofu
-Birthday cake
-Sweet pea tofu
The sweet pea tofu had a nice taste but I did not like the texture because it was starchy.
The ginger tofu was fun because of the pipette.
The birthday cake had cream and marshmallows this year and the pandan flavour was stronger but sweeter.

Dolci Sogni is Out of place
Dolci Sogni opened ages ago but it did not stand out on that street because the front of this shop is black and inside it is black as well.
It is strange because on that street, the rest of the eateries are local cha chaan tengs, noodle shops and places for affordable local grub so this boutique style joint seemed out of place on a shabby street.
Personally, I think they could be in a better location such as Causeway Bay or Central.
Tried their pistachio nitrogen icecream.
I found the icecream too sweet and it tasted powdery with a strange aftertaste which I believe is the PreGel pannacreama they are using.
I will probably come back and try their savoury items.

Having LN2 icecream at InnoVeggie
While I was dining at InnoVeggies, the Pretty manageress gave me some icecream from LabMade.
Tried the beancurd icecream and HK crispy toast.
The HK crispy toast was surprisingly good because it was cooling with pieces of crispy toast and the icecream was not so sweet.
The beancurd icecream had a lighter taste but the beancurd taste was prominent and it actually had pieces of chewy beancurd skin in it.
