Cucumber and aloe vera milk drink

Had a tasting at 豆花妹撈米線 so while I was milling about at SSP station I took a quick look at the drinks at Hung Fook Tong!
This time I was lured again by their drinks.
The drinks that I tried before were quite nice such as the grapefruit and guava.

Anyway, this time I had the cucumber and aloe vera!
To be honest, the concoction of aloe vera, cucumber and the colour reminds you of face lotions and cleansers!!

Cucumber and aloe vera drink:

I was expecting the colour of this drink to be cloudy and transparent but weirdly they put milk into it.

I could understand why they added milk because the blended cucumber skin would look ugly in the drink.
Surprisingly the drink was really nice and soothing and the milk took away the grassy taste of the cucumber.
Regrettably I should have drank this after the tasting at 豆花妹撈米線 because it goes really well with the spices and exciting tastes of those noodles just like pairing soy milk with Shanghai/Sichuan dishes.

Spinach aloe noodles!!!

+++Thanks to Mungkeikei for adding this restaurant to Openrice because I tried to add it in January and it got rejected so I was not going bother, but Mungkeikei insisted so I am not going to waste her efforts and post this review asap+++

I was late and not intending to have lunch, but this noodle joint was new so decided to dine here anyway even though I was late..

[It was amusing how the two people are looking at each other below!!]

To be honest there are many ramen joints about but I was attracted here because they had SPINACH ALOE RAMEN. (I wonder if there really is any aloe in it and how the texture of the noodles would turn out.)

Another interesting item was pot stickers with Iberian pork which is another trend.
Lately I've seen Iberian croquettes and fried Iberian intestines at other places!!

Went in and the restaurant was pretty empty and the decor was nice and modern with crystal chandeliers, white tables and chairs with magenta pink sofas.

The menu was simple, you just tick what you want and they had Vanilla chicken wings!!

Spinach aloe ramen with soft pork cartilage $48:

Compared to their other ramen, the strands of ramen were flat and extremely slippery.
They kept slipping from the chopsticks when I tried to pick them up.
Initially they were hard at first but then they softened up.
The noodles were flavoured by the salty broth which had no pork bone taste and I could not taste any spinach or aloe in it.
The soft pork cartilage was nice but only the middle part was soft and the meat was a bit tough and dry on the edges.

Ramen with Iberian pork and chives dumpling and roast pork $33:

Came here for tea because it was only $33 including a drink and you could choose two items.
The ramen was boring compared to the spinach and the dumpling had a nice balance of chives and pork.
Again if it was not for the menu, you wouldn't really know its Iberian pork in the dumplings.

Mix and match drinks with style by MANGO EXPRESS

Mango Express (Tseung Kwan O)
This shop is called Mango Express which is a new line of drinks by Hui Lau Shan.

But for some reason, OpenRice has listed this as Hui Lau Shan and not Mango Express.

Quoted from Hui Lan Shan's Facebook page:
許留山的全新概念店-芒果站正式進註港鐵沿線; 8月3日首間芒果站於寶琳站開幕了。芒果站以健康鮮果甜品為主, 特別介紹全新產品-開心好玩的D.I.Y特飲,客人可3重味自由配搭共80款組合,快D嚟試晒佢啦! 請各位許留山Fans 多多支持!

It opened on the 3rd of August, offering D.I.Y drinks with up to 80 combinations!!

To order your D.I.Y drink, follow the steps:
Step 1: Choose your drink based on a choice of five juices: Mango, coconut, watermelon, blueberry or pineapple.
Step 2: Choose an ingredient from: sago, basil seed, mango or pineapple.
Step 3: Choose a jelly base: aloe jelly, mango pudding, mango jelly, or honey jelly.

If you can't decide or wait, there are drinks already mixed in the fridge for grab and go convenience.

Bright and colourful straws for the drinks.

My DIY Drink:
Pineapple x Sago x Aloe Jelly
Great concept and drink but it was WAY too sweet and syrupy!
It really wrecked their claims on healthy drinks.
The aloe jelly was really nice though because it had a strong pandan taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
As well as drinks, they also sell their usual snacks such as curried fishballs, shaomai's and one snack I found interesting was the Durian chocolate!

Spicy Herbs Scone & Muesli Lemon Aloe Jelly Yogurt Cup @ STARBUCKs

After trying the new drinks I saw some other snacks I wanted to get. So I went to Starbucks again to get the Petites Cup and the Muesli with Lemon Aloe Jelly Yogurt Cup.

The Petites Cup is a cup of bitesize snacks, $22 for five pieces. There are five flavours which can be mixed and matched. The five flavours are (NEW) Spicy Herbs Scone, (NEW) Almond Finger, Double Chocolate Cookie, Chocolate Chips Cookie and Cheese Puff.

On my first visit at the WanChai branch I asked for three pieces of the new spicy herb scone and two pieces of the Cheese Puff, however they gave the Almond Finger instead sad.
So I went to the Sai Kung branch and just got the cheese puffs and the Lemon Aloe Jelly Yogurt Cup.

Petits Cup ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Spicy Herbs Scone It does not look spicy but the taste was really strong, there is an aftertaste as well.
Bascially I could taste heavy grounded black pepper and pesto.
The scone itself was really dry and hard.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Almond Finger I didnt intend to try this because they gave me this instead of the cheese puffs I ordered.
Initially I thought it was weird there was almond on top but after I checked online it appears they've given me the almond finger.
The Almond finger was really sweet and too buttery for my liking. It was quite greasy as well.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Cheese puffs These are savory cheese flavoured profiteroles but I found them tasteless. The cheese could not be tasted at all.
It was just buttery. However inside the puff you can see some slight cheese.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
  Muesli with Lemon Aloe Jelly Yogurt Cup
Tried mixing the elements together which tasted nice and also tried the elements individually.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Muesli
This is the ordinary breakfast muesli with raisins, oats and cornflakes which was quite sweet on its own because of the raisins.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Yogurt
After trying the muesli I tried the yogurt which was natural yogurt and it was quite sweet because the muesli was sweet so the yogurt is normally meant to taste sour after you've had sweet things but it wasnt, so the yogurt was obviously quite sweet.
However it was quite refreshing because there was pieces of aloe in it.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Lemon Jelly This was really refreshing and I wish there was slightly more jelly in the cup.
