[Mr. Cumin] A place to cure lamb cravings

I don't know why but I just love Cumin so I was drawn here.
Cumin is normally paired with lamb and sprinkled on skewers which is just what this joint serves.
As well as the skewers, the rice with minced lamb sauce is a must order.

It was breathtaking watching him grill the meat and you can even feel the flames so I guess don't stand too close!

I wonder how he is going to cope with that heat later when the temperatures are going to reach 32 degrees C plus!!

As well as grilling the meats, it is then torched to ensure that hard to reach areas are evenly done.

Here was what I had:
++++++
Chicken wings stuffed with glutinous rice:

I am not keen on stuffed chicken wings but I loved this because it wasn't too oily or fat after the way they grilled and torched it.

The glutinous rice in the middle had a good flare of spice that gives it a good spice kick that doesn't linger.
++++++
To be honest, I found the lamb skewer and lamb chop quite similar but it depends if you prefer chunks of lamb or a juicy lamb rack.

Now to the star of the show, MINCED LAMB WITH RICE.

Looking very spicy with generous flakes of chili, I was fooled because it was not spicy at all and the minced lamb was so tasty and lean which was delicious with the rice.
If you mix the egg, it becomes even more heavenly with the richness of the egg yolk.

It would be great if they have onsen eggs which you could completely mix it in.
The courgette slices were sweet and tasty and I liked the way it was evenly cooked.

Lunches at Ba Yi

To be honest lunch here is better than the evenings because you can get a taste of mutton at a better deal.
Lunches are under $50 and there is no service charge.

Cumin spiced mutton with rice :

I loved flavoured rice and this had shredded pieces of pumpkin in it garnished with raisins and onions.
As well as the rice, the lamb was tasty but the rice gets heavy towards the end because it has quite a lot of oil mixed into it.

Noodles:

The noodle was in a delicious broth and there were lots of diced vegetables and pieces of tofu in it.

Goat's milk pudding:
The pudding was made from goat's milk powder but it still tasted ok because it was very creamy and silky.

Xinjiang wildfire grilled skewers

I was hesitant about trying this because I usually get food poisoning from these types of places, but I could not resist the smell of cumin. I was on the footbridge above this stall and I could already smell the fumes coming from this place. The smell of cumin must have been really strong because when I was eating my grilled lamb skewer on the escalator the person in front obviously smelt it and turned his head round to see what I was eating.

Anyway, I am surprised that no one has given this a review on Openrice.

They basically serve ten items, some of the English translations are translated directly from Chinese such as Secret pork, snowflake beef and creamy chicken.
I believe they mean juicy tender chicken instead of creamy. The ten choices are: chicken, chicken wings, lamb, beef, wagyu beef, chives, sweetcorn, garlic, green beans and pork.
When it is being grilled they will put honey on it, after it is grilled, they will put seasoning on it such as spicy seasoning and cumin. My lamb skewer was just right, it was not gamey, but the only complaint was that the meat was fatty.
It was sprinkled with generous cumin and now I am tempted to try the chicken and beef!
