Halloween themed dim sum

Yum Cha is well known for their creatively cute novelty dimsums.

I went there for lunch and they were serving some scary treats because it was Halloween.

There was a long queue but food came relatively fast.

Here was what we had:

Steamed shrimp dumplings:

The shimps were springy and it was just shrimps inside so you won't get any nasty fatty pork and lard.

+++++++++++
Flying bats wonton:

This was my favourite because I like fried things and inside it was delicious prawns.
+++++++++++++
BBQ pork finger puffs:

This was on the sweet side and it was made with shortcrust which made it crumbly.

+++++++++++
Steamed mummy sausage buns:

This was a bit different from the usual buns because it had a sweet preserved sausage in the middle.
++++++++
For dessert we finished with these cute pumpkins filled with starchy red beans.

Trick or Treat candies from Mary's & Morozoff

Halloween is a fun day where children will go knocking on peoples' doors.
When the homeowner answers the door, the children will say "Trick or Treat" and the homeowner can either give them sweets as a TREAT or the kids will do something mischievous in return to the owner or property.

In Hong Kong, the culture is a bit different so they just have Halloween treats for people to buy.
In the bag it had a nice mix of chocolate and candies.
The chocolate was quite nice and not too sweet.

Halloween Tai Cheong jumpbo pandan egg tart cake

Previously tried the huge jumbo egg tart cake at Tai Cheong which got popular.
At first they began with the lemon flavour and then they launched the chocolate one.
For Halloween, they have the new pandan flavour as well as the other two flavours with Halloween images on it.

The lady at the till forgot to add the Halloween images on it.
When I started taking photos of the promotional poster she realized she forgot about the Halloween finishing on the cake and offered to add it for me but as it was just icing sugar that will make the cake sweeter I did not bother with it.

As well as forgetting that, she also forgot that there was a special box for it that says jumbo eggtarts.

Anyway, the egg tart cake tasted the best out of the three flavours.
Initially I was skeptical because I tried their Japanese Pandan cheesecake and didn't like it.

But the egg tart cake version is definitely good because it has triple pandan flavour, there is a layer of pandan cake, pandan cream and pandan pudding layer.

30% Extra large scary-big-boorrito for Halloween

Little Burro (Causeway Bay)

Although my first experience at Little Burro was crap, I went again because I was craving for that salsa and lime rice.

For Halloween, they had just the thing I wanted!

The Halloween special was an extra large Burrito filled with their signature lime rice, slow cooked lamb shoulder, roasted pumpkin, a hint of spice and salsa.

Luckily this burrito was extra large because I would not have been full if it was the normal one!

There were still a few things Little Burro could have improved on.

There was a bottle of water on the table, so I believe it was for people to drink, however there were no cups about.
I saw one of the customers go to the counter and ask them for a cup so I did the same.
If they intend to give customers water, why don't they put cups on the table.
What's more frustrating is that if there is a queue, then you need to wait for the queue to die down before you can ask them for a cup.

Anyway, here was my Halloween burrito!
I knew it was big, but I was actually quite shocked at how big it was!
The diameter was about the same as the bottle above!

Because of the size, the burrito was quite difficult to eat, I ended up eating the rice and fillings in the middle with a fork then eating the soft tortilla wrap.

The burrito tasted amazing though, packed with spices in every mouthful, with pieces of lamb, pumpkin, beans, lettuce, diced tomato and soft rice.

When I got to the bottom of the burrito, it was soggy!

The lamb was microwaved before serving just like Foodcraver said.
