Premium Japanese KITKAT Collection debuts in Hong Kong KITKAT Chocolatory

Calling all KITKAT® fans – the KITKAT® Chocolatory® specialist store is bringing its premium Japanese collection to Hong Kong for the very first time. This luxurious chocolate range was crafted under the supervision of Yasumasa Takagi, the owner and executive pastry chef of renowned Tokyo desserts shop Le Patissier Takagi, and features a total of 14 flavours, including the Volcanic Series Vanuatu, Volcanic Series Papua New Guinea, Volcanic Series Philippines, Yuzu, Passion Fruit, Cassis, Raspberry, Strawberry, Matcha, Raw Chocolate, Bitter Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Ruby Chocolate and White Chocolate.

The 14 KITKAT® bars encompass four series, each with their own distinctive features. Origin showcases the unique characteristics of different cacao-producing regions, Combination offers the perfect unison of chocolate with fruit or tea, Process celebrates the art of chocolate making, and Type pays homage to the finessed flavour profiles of various types of chocolate.

KITKAT® Chocolatory® Volcanic Series Vanuatu Chocolate – The Volcanic Series is made with cacao cultivated in the nutrient-rich soils of volcanic islands. These beans are so rare, they account for only 0.2% of global production. The Vanuatu bar boasts tart and bittersweet notes that emerge like fresh spring water, perfectly complementing the rich and earthy cacao aromas.

KITKAT® Chocolatory® Yuzu Chocolate – This sunny confection features prominent notes of yuzu, with the refreshing citrus enhanced by the premium chocolate.

For a taste of these premium chocolate creations, visit the KITKAT® Chocolatory® Pop Up Store on Yun Ping Road (diagonally opposite Hysan Place) in Causeway Bay between March 31 and May 2, 2021. With its modern and minimalistic interior, the store is the perfect place to browse and enjoy the eye-catching chocolate bars displayed on the central counter.

The KITKAT® Chocolatory® premium Japanese collection will also be sold at all city'super, selected LOG-ON and selected TASTE locations as well as through the NestlĂ©® HK eshop.

Guests who purchase five or more chocolate bars at any retail location, including the KITKAT® Chocolatory® Pop Up Store, can add HK$38 for a special edition ceramic cup and wooden plate set designed by Tokyo-based artist Okamura Yuta. The design is inspired by the serving ware for wagashi confections and brings a traditional Japanese touch to the enjoyment of KITKAT® Chocolatory® bars with a cup of freshly brewed coffee. MML secret spice in Hong Kong!!!

Thanks to MML Secret Spice for sending some spices all the way over to Hongkers!
Before I got them, I watched MML Special Spice youtube to get some inspiration on how to use the spices which is simple and straightforward really just like other spices.
As soon as I received them, I put a dab in my mouth to see how it tasted because you really have to try condiments/sauces/spices before using them effectively.
What I mean by that is, you get a feel for the taste ie if it has salt, sugar, how spicy it is.
My first impression was that it was quite hot so a little goes a long way as it really depends on your tolerance to spices.
Without further ado, I spiced my fries with it inspired by McDonalds shake shake fries and McCains flavour maker.
I was really pleased with the result because it gave the fries some heat.
It is really good that the spices don't have salt as it only gives extra spice and aroma to the dishes as some items already have salt in them.

The next dish I tried was Shepherd's pie with a spicy kick inspired by Pie Republic's spiced Shimla pie and also Chinese takeaway style chilli beef by mixing the spices in the sauce.

Pickled eggs to the next level!!
These are pickled devilled eggs with paprika replaced with @mmlsecretspice
Note, there are no greens in devilled eggs but I put them there to make it look nice.
Natural purple colours from reusing vinegar that was used to pickle purple cabbage and red radish.

I love this secret spice because it's so versatile that it enhances anything.
This time used it on roast chicken and the celery in the spices are lovely and aromatic.

Rice rolls with a Korean twist;
Kimchi is so popular these days but I'm allergic to it.
Anyway, I made my own version of colourful kimchi with fragrant fresh celery, spring onions, carrots, chilli flakes, Chinese cabbage.
By spicing it with mml secret spice it looks and tastes just like kimchi.
