[Petite House] Egg puffs with gelato

I was glad I tried this new joint at Festival called Petite House because they have Paninis as well as sweet treats like pancakes, egg puffs and of course gelato.
The gelato is made fresh every day.

The decor is open and modern.

I started with the Panini which was difficult to choose as there were two that were good ( The parma ham and buffalo mozzarella and the ham with fontina cheese).

For dessert it was a battle choosing between the purple potato egg puffs and the black forest pancakes.
In the end, I ordered with Ham with Fontina cheese panini and the purple potato egg puff.
+++++++++
Fontina cheese panini:

I loved this because the panini was crisp and light while the fontina cheese was melted and gooey.
There was sweet apricot mustard in it as well which balanced the heaviness of the cheese.
+++++++++
purple potato egg puff:

I didn't have any expectations for this because desserts in HK are way too sweet.
Surprisingly, the sweetness was just right because the purple potato gelato isn't very sweet which balances the sweetness of the waffle.
The coconut pieces were the best because it was soft young coconut meat which made me wish it was taro flavoured gelato instead of purple potato.
There were cute oreo biscuits on the waffle to garnish which are about the size of the egg puff bubbles.

+++++++++
Well, I guess I have to come back again for the black forest pancakes and the other panini.

Vroom Vroom with Fiat food !! @ Fiat Caffè

There are not many car themed restaurants in Hong Kong, although they are getting increasingly popular.
Not long after this was opened there is now one in Central which features Mini's called Mini dans la Ville.

Anyway checked this place out with IVYCWK.

When we got there it was already full and lots of people were waiting for tables.
In the Cafe, there were many Fiat related items for sale such as gear stick nobs and other mechanical bits.

The only disappointment was that there was only one table near the entrance which was actually a partial car, the rest were normal tables and chairs.

I just felt that for a car themed restaurant, there should be more of these car themed tables.

Finally sat down and ordered a panini and a Sardines bruschetta.
The table for two was so small that the two basic items we ordered and drinks could not be all placed on the table.
Luckily the waitors were extremely attentative and helpful, they helped us put the food on smaller plates to fit on the table.

I really liked the panini, especially the cheese which was white, and the egg inside the panini was not overdone.
The anchovies were there to give it some flavour.

We ordered this because the presentation was fun!
Usually the fish comes from the tin and here they have put the sauces in the tin and the sardines intact on top of the bruschetta.
The Sardines tastes like the usual sardines but without the tomato sauce and it was slightly drenched in olive oil.
It was fun with the sauce in the tin.
The dill caper mayonnaise was my favourite, it was evidently creamy and there were lots of dill in the sauce which can be visually seen.
The tomato sauce tasted like pizza sauce but it was sligthly too sweet for my liking.

The tea itself was exquisite, especially the packaging.
However it could have been served better because the tea and water was served separately so by the time you put the teabag in the glass the water is not hot enough.
Secondly the tea should be served in a tea cup or a tea pot because the amount of water that was in the tall glass is nearly twice as much as a tea cup which will make the tea bland.
Thirdly this tea bag is different to other teabags because there is a hook at the top and keeps the tea bag afloat and given the tall glass, the tea bag could not diffuse properly with the water. ⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛ
Cute Salt and Pepper grinders As well as the exquisite tea, I found these grinders quite cute by Drogheria & Alimentari

Breakfast panini @ Pacific Coffee

This was the best Panini I have ever had, it contained breakfast elements, hence called the Big breakfast.

Perfectly sliced, and pre-packaged before it reaches Pacific coffee.

The panini, had a light crust from the grill, and warm egg, ham and tarragon sauce in the middle.

Very satisfying for breakfast or light lunch.

BK's Herb panini series

Tried the new herb panini series, there was a choice of grilled chicken with teriyaki sauce or the tendercrisp chicken with honey and mustard.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Honey mustard tendercrisp chicken in herb Panini:
The panini was huge but the panini bread was too dry, the honey mustard sauce and tendercrisp were nice together.

New York Angus burger with bacon:
The angus burger looked huge on the poster, however it was tiny and was quite expensive.
