Food crawl at Seven Dials Market, London

Street food has been taking the storm in UK for years now like the Borough Market.
Enter Seven Dials Market which is a spacious modern foodhall which equips independent businesses with permanent fixtures while there is a comfortable hall for people dine in.

There are two floors, the street level one features a Monty's deli, club Mexicana and The cheese bar with the world's first cheese conveyor belt restaurant.

On the lower ground floor you have pasta, Asian food etc.

To summarize, depending on how successful the restaurants are, you might find restaurants coming and going quite fast just like other food courts/halls.
During covid, it was frustrating trying to dine there because you had to scan a code.
However, you can go in as you please now but not the same for boxpark which still needs a code.
The only thing I dislike about food courts and halls is the noise.

The latter restaurants appealed to me so I dined there for dumplings, Mumbai Toast and pandan puff.
My first stop was yum buns because the dumplings looked good.
There were so many dumplings choices so I went for the mushroom as not places have it and the fact that it was drizzled with chive oil.
At first, it smelled like garlic baguette but it actually tasted really nice especially with all that mushroom in it.

Next stop was NaanStop express for the mumbai toast which was a bit disappointing because I found it a bit bland but the cheese was amazing.
The Dahi Vada would have been a better choice.

Third stop was ong ong buns for the pandan puff because I simply love pandan.
As I was full, I had that at home.

Your salad at Great Food Hall

Great Food Hall (Admiralty)

As well as this is place, Mxtrxpolitxn Cxfe in Admiratly which has bad customer service offers tossed salads.

The salad here is cheaper but there are less items to choose from some such as sweet mandarin slices and parma ham.

My salad:

Although the choices for the salad are not as good as Mxtrxpolitxn Cxfe, there were more beans to choose from and greens too.
The sauce I chose was the Asian sauce which is savoury with a hint of sesame oil.
The spinach leaves, sweet peas and beetroot tasted lovely with that sesame dressing, and the cheese I chose gave it an extra touch of saltiness, while the beans were there just for extra protein.

Good concept but too oily at Daikuya

Kiev filled with miso and radish:

Daikuya (Tseung Kwan O)
I am not really a fan of pork or deep fried cutlets, but tried this place because of the Japanese style pork kievs.

As well as these pork kievs, they had other snacks too such as fried cutlet egg, fried cheese etc, but none of them were available when I tried to order them.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
At the counter, they had samples of the different kievs:

Kiev filled with creamy mushrooms:
Kiev filled with Spinach:

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Decided to get the Kiev with miso and radish because the spinach and mushroom ones looked a bit creamy.

The set comes with soba, rice or ochazuke, julienne cabbage and a drink.

The soba was a bit too soft for my liking.

The julienne vegetables were really nice because of the sesame sauce.

The green tea was the best out of the set because it was not too sweet and the green tea taste was strong.

The star of the meal! The Kiev!
It was a bit too oily!

I was a bit disappointed the filling was same colour as the coating. The miso was not even dark nor was there any miso paste or beans in it because I could only taste some slight grated radish.
The filling was bit weak and tasteless.
More annoyingly, the pork was very fatty!

THIS FOOD COURT IS LIKE A FREEZER! THE AIR CON IS ON FULL BLAST!

$100 shopping spree at IKEA

IKEA Café (Kowloon Bay)
Thanks to Megabox promotions for this $100 cash coupon that I got from the Ramen Champion tasting event.

I spent it immediately that night

I got three items and it was exactly $100

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Rosti:This was basically coarsely grated potato shaped like a patty and frozen.
After it was cooked there was a nice crisp texture and the rosti had a nice potato taste similar to hash browns.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Crab spread (Pastej krabbe):The crab spread was contained in this huge tube.

The crab spread had a pinkish colour with lots of herbs
It was quite salty and had a strong dill taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Tarta Chokladkrokant:
They also have at the cafe, but it does not have cream on top.

The packaging is idiot proof and gives information on the number of servings and that it is a frozen product.

The cake is best cut when it is frozen because the cream is hard.

The pie was delicious with generous pieces of nuts in it.
It was not too sweet and the cream, chocolate and tart base tasted great together.
