[Review] A lovely afternoon at Tin Cafe

Discovered Tin cafe when I was getting puddings round the corner.

Tin Cafe was different, every part of the cafe is well decorated even though everything is mismatched from the cinema folding chairs to regular tables.

Personally I was drawn by the injection vials which have been redesigned into lights and the lamp shade by the counter is made with paper label tags.

The light shade in the middle is made of rail tracks and there are just so many things to be noticed like the bags hook underneath one of the tables.

The face thing with a switch tells you the time when you press the switch!!

I was there for tea that afternoon and it was great sitting by the window watching people from all walks of life going past.

Although it was my first visit, you could feel how popular this cafe is and the owner Tanya Carson is truly amazing because she literally knows all the people who come in or walk past.

[Review] Tea at London Tea Exchange

A while ago I discovered London Tea Exchange when I was at Brick Lane so made a mental note to visit it later.
I love tea especially when there are so many blends to choose from.
Brick Lane is an interesting location for a tea house because the rest are smaller coffee shops and curry houses.

I was drawn by the cakes at the window especially the rainbow one which just stood out from the classy wood and brass setting.

As the place was a bit busy I went back an hour later when it was nice and quiet.

The staff were really friendly and showed me the teas so that I could smell them.
There were green, black, white, yellow and other teas to choose from on the menu.
Darjeeling or Breakfast tea is normally my pick with cakes but the chocolate coconut was a must because I always have this whenever I see it.

Ordered the rainbow cake with the chocolate and coconut tea.

The rainbow cake was moist and delicious finished with my favourite chocolate coconut tea which had three types of Belgian chocolate and coconut flakes.
It is hard to explain but I just have an addictive to the taste of cocoa in tea without the sweetness.

To summarize, I really enjoyed my tea moment so I will probably be back for the Fruity blossom tea which has a lovely aroma of cherries and rhubarb.
The staff have a good knowledge of teas which is good but it would have been nice if the cakes were labelled.

[Review] Tea at Cafe Aroma

Cafe Aroma is located on Ocklynge Road which is not on the main road to Town so I wouldn't have found out if I wasn't near Motcombe swimming pool.
From a glance of the front of the cafe, you never would have guessed it was tea house as the windows were in a frosted like state so it was hard to see how it looked inside.

When I got closer, the menu on the board had Fish cakes, pie etc so went back during the weekend.

The cafe was almost full when I went but there were two more tables at the far back near the cake cabinet.

You are greeted with lots of tea pots and plates.

The ambiance is cosy.

The menu:

As a tea lover, there were about 10 teas so it was hard deciding, some blends were obviously what they were except Miss Norris and Russian.
Being adventurous and spoilt for choice I had Miss Norris.

The teas came served in beautiful tea pots with a strainer.

My tea had a floral note of rose which smelled like Damascus Rose Tea but the taste was quite pleasant.
After asking the owner about the tea, found out there was Rose, Violets and Jasmine in the blend.

For food, had a pudding since I had already had lunch.
All the puddings and cakes were home made by Bryan.
I tried the apple and peach sponge with custard which was appetizing because of the tart apples while the sponge was complemented by the custard.

Overall, a lovely place for tea on an off beaten path.
