M&S Cafe: Our Best Ever prawn cocktail & smoked salmon jacket with rainbow slaw

I love jacket potatoes so when I saw the "Our Best Ever prawn cocktail & smoked salmon jacket with rainbow slaw" on the menu I had to order it.
It was like two wishes in one: salmon and prawn cocktail.
Sadly, it is not on the menu now as they have changed it.
I liked the way, the salmon and prawn cocktail is all over that you can't see the jacket garnished with all that generous coriander.
Different branches serve it differently because the one my friend has didn't have coriander but had some extra rocket on the side.

Limited edition stacked with flavour pancakes with chocolate hazelnut spread at M&S Cafe

Pancakes are getting boring but I liked the way they had it at M&S Cafe because it looks like an inexpensive treat chocolate hazelnut spread and strawberries.
As a foodie, it was a good way of trying out their Chocolate hazelnut spread without buying it and the pancakes buttermilk pancakes.
The pancakes were a little burnt and dry but compensated by the chocolate hazelnut spread.

UK versus HK food festive schedules

As a foodie, it is always nice to try festive foods which are exciting and creative every year.
It is interesting how vastly different the time when Hong Kong and UK start selling the festive stuff.
The only festivals that Hong Kong and UK share are Christmas, Valentines and Easter.
In UK, straight after Halloween finishes, the shelves are stocked with Christmas goodies and shortly after Christmas like 27th December, you will find Easter chocolate eggs and Valentines treats already.
In Hong Kong, you will probably find shops selling festive items a month beforehand but influencers are getting sent these items a few months ahead.

Marks & Spencers Food at Hang Hau East Point City

Although retail isn't good everywhere, food is going strong.
The Marks and Spencers at East Point City Hang Hau has finally got a mini food hall with fresh produce and other goodies like sausage rolls etc.
I am so glad they stock my favourite quiche and desserts.

[Review] Marks and Spencers Christmas Dinner

As mentioned earlier, the Marks and Spencers Christmas Dinner was on my list to try but the smaller branches don't offer it.

Luckily I was checking something out on Oxford Street so went to Marks and Spencers for the Christmas dinner while everyone in town was probably going for more sophisticated choices.

It was late in the afternoon and relatively busy, overall it was quick to queue and pay but the drinks counter was holding up the queue.

After paying for the dinner, queued for the tea which took a while then sat down and waited for the dinner.

When it arrived, it looked just as good as the product shot with lots of gravy.

Everything on the plate was delicious so I would definitely recommend the Christmas Dinner.

[Review] Marks and Spencers Christmas Rainbow Cake

Spotted the Marks and Spencers Christmas Rainbow Cake and the Christmas dinner at some branch so decided to try it the next time I was out.
Sadly they only serve the cake and Christmas dinner at the bigger branches.

Went to Marks and Spencers at Westfield in White City.

We were greeted by the coffee kiosk on the ground floor so we didn't realize there was a bigger cafe upstairs so ended up just having tea.

Went upstairs after tea and discovered a bigger Marks and Spencers cafe where they had the Christmas Rainbow Cake so ended up going there as well to eat it because it is difficult to find another branch.

The layout at this branch was rather bad because the cake stands were too high which made it difficult to put the slice of cake on the plate.

The Marks and Spencers Christmas Rainbow Cake is basically a cake with layers of green, red and plain cake with buttercream topped with sprinkles.

Overall, it was a fancy cake that was instaworthy with colourings that didn't have any special flavours.
The buttercream a bit too sugary for my liking.

Will return for the Christmas dinner as this branch does not offer it.

Marks and Spencers Christmas finds 2019

I was quite glad I was at Marks and Spencers this week.
They have begun selling Christmas stuff.
Unfortunately, I already had lunch or I would dine there for the Christmas Dinner or the Christmas tree cake.

Anyway, grabbed the gluten free Turkey feast sandwich for dinner.

The sandwich was really good especially the stuffing but the bacon was not crispy enough while the cranberry jam was a bit too sweet.
Hoping to get the three bird roast with chicken, turkey and duck next time or the turkey wrap.
