Pacific Coffee x Vitasoy... More than just coffee

PC celebrates their silver jubilee this year by collaborating with Vitasoy, a local brand that all Hong Kongers know.  Hence there are a collection of Vitasoy-inspired coffee drinks and food as well as a limited edition co-branded glass mug.

The Black Soya Panna Cotta with Quinoa & Chia Seed is served in this cute little mug jar with a lid so I had to get it. It was so silky and delicious with a rich bean taste and it comes with a matching wooden spoon.

For drinks, had the Iced Vitasoy Soyabean Milk Latte which is Vitasoy Soyabean Milk mixed with their signature 18/25 Altura coffee, with black sugar jelly added to the bottom and crispy whole oat sprinkled on top.  The taste is smooth with a crispy twist yet it was quite delightfully bittersweet.

Kee Wah 2017 Zongzi

It is the time of year when shops are selling Zongzis to celebrate dragon boat festival.

Kee Wah have come up with a variety of creative dumplings and the Vegetarian one with Quinoa is my favourite this year because it is healthy and tasty.

Zongzis are eaten hot so all you have do is boil them for a bit and they are ready to eat.

Here were the ones I tried.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Quinoa Rice dumpling with Blaze mushroom:

As well as being light, it was delicious because it was crammed with nutritious chestnuts, black beans, red beans, rice rice and the pickled radish gave it a nice crunch and flavour.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Spanish Iberico Pork rice dumpling with supreme dried scallop:

Looking dark in colour the taste was not as strong as I expected with good balance of starchy bean filling to the meat and salted egg yolk.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Betty’s xo sauce rice dumpling with pork belly:

Glutinous rice, pork belly, xo sauce (garlic, shallot, chinese ham, dried shrimp, red pepper, dried scallop, dried shrimp).
This was my favourite because it was spicy which makes the sticky glutinous rice more appetizing.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Chinese ham and supreme dried scallop rice dumpling with two yolks:

The size of the zongzi was comparatively bigger than the other ones and it was like a Kinder surprise dumpling because it was loaded with surprises!

Ham and Egg yolk:

Whole chestnut:

Whole dried scallop:

The second egg yolk:

I loved the five spice powder and double egg yolks which gave the overall dumpling extra saltiness.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Red bean paste with mandarin peel zongzi:
I love the pairing of red bean paste and mandarin peel because the bitterness of the peel balances the sweetness of the red bean paste.

Beef Liberty :Mo’ Quinoa for Movember

Movember is a month of growing moustaches in November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as depression in men, prostate cancer and other male cancers, and associated charities.

Beef and Liberty have launched the Mo’ Quinoa burger for Movember, a healthy vegetarian burger with Quinoa patty covered in my favourite sharp and creamy cottage cheese.
The Quinoa patty contains Quinoa, red onion, cumin, jalapeno and cheddar cheese.
When it was served, the top part of the bun has a cute moustache on it.

Cottage cheese!!

This is just the burger for me because I love the crispiness of the Quinoa coating and inside it is fluffy but tasty with a strong cumin and spicy jalapeno flavour.

For drinks I had the ginger and vanilla milkshake which had so much vanilla seeds at the bottom.
It was thick and sweet blended with icecream.

Eton's Mess

I love the desserts at Beef and Liberty because they always have a British dessert on the menu and a while ago they had scotch egg on the food menu too.
The dessert was good because I was craving for strawberries and cream but this was thick cream with pieces of meringue to balance the sourness of the strawberries.

Vegetarian Deli @ Life Deli

At first, I didn't know it was vegetarian until I checked it out, so for Vegetarians in this area, they can come here, World Peace Cafe or Happy Veggies and others.

The shop sells various health foods as well as salads and cakes.

The Quiches and cakes appeared to be heavy and bigger than normal ones.
I believe the bigger portions can compensate for hunger.

I tried the salad Quinoa, which looks exactly like cous cous, but but bigger.
It was hard and waxy. The dressing used for it made it too creamy.
I also got the quiche but I didnt really like it, it was too hard and dry.
