Taylor's Spice Co Himalayan Black salt review

Salt comes in different colours and varieties.
Himalayan black salt is extremely distinctive because it has this unique pungent smell like eggs which also comes in handy in cooking because it tastes like eggs.
I would describe it like a salt form of msg because it really gives it that umami kick to dishes.
It is popular with vegetarians because it can make tofu taste eggy.
You can also find black ritual salt and black lava salt which are not the same thing because it is just salt mixed with charcoal powder and activated charcoal.

Other salts I have tried:

McDs Ebi burger with sesame/thousand island sauce 2012

My favourite Ebi Burger is back and so is my favourite seasoning for the fries.

This year they have the Ebi burger with Thousand island sauce or Sesame sauce.
As a preference I prefer the thousand island sauce because it is similar to prawn cocktail sauce.

For the fries they have Seaweed seasoning or Wasabi powder seasoning.

Ebi burger with sesame sauce:
The bun for the sesame sauce is slightly different because it has black and white sesame seeds on the top.
I tried this one first because the taste is not as strong as thousand island sauce.
I was surprised it was really nice because the taste of the sesame sauce is similar to sesame oil and not the grounded sesame sauce even though it was creamy, however there could have been more sauce.
The sauce was slightly sweet but matched the prawn patty and the colour of the sauce was beige.

Ebi burger with thousand island:
In contrast to the sesame sauce, the thousand island sauce was much more refreshing but for both burgers the amount of sauce was so stingy!
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Seaweed powder:
As usual the seaweed powder tastes really nice however they could reduce the salt in the seasoning because McDonald's fries already have salt sprinkled on them before they are scooped into the fries box.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Wasabi powder:
This was really nice but the seasoning needs to be shaken well or some fries will have strong wasabi taste and some fries would just be sweet.
But when it is shaken properly the wasabi and the sweetness really enhances the fries.

Breadcrumb coating:
The last time McDonalds had this burger it was not breadcrumb coating, but with the breadcrumb coating it seems to overpower the taste of the prawn patty.

Hot Pot @ Taste Full Kitchen

Located in Hang Hau, I was surprised this restaurant was quite nice especially the interior. When I entered the restaurant, the logo reminded me of Megan's Kitchen 美味廚 in Wan Chai.
Both these places share the Chinese characters 美味 in the name and they both offer some unique items for the hot pot.
In the end I found out that this restaurant is part of the Victoria Harbour restaurant group.

I chose the broth with pork bones and when it came it was white with some sweet corns, shitaake mushrooms and chives in it. I was expecting it to be tasteless but it was really strong, it was as nice as the broths at Little Fat Sheep so for people who do not favour red meat, the veggies and other items did not turn out to be tasteless due to the broth.
There were lots of spices in the broth too.
As well as the nice broth, they had nice sauces. Although I am allergic to the sichuan sauce, the sichuan sauce was really nice, it was not that spicy but the taste and smell was really aromatic.

======HOTPOT ITEMS====== ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Dumplings with truffle:
It was such a waste with the pieces of truffle placed on top, when it is in the hot pot the truffle pieces float away.
The truffle pieces should have been wrapped inside.
The skin was really thick so the filling was hard to cook.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Oysters in the tub:
I was disappointed with the size of these because I have seen bigger before, however I found a tiny pearl that was forming.
The taste was creamy but slightly too mushy.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Hiroshima Oysters:
Surprisingly these taste better than the ones in tubs.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Fish maw and fish belly:
These were nice just plainly blanched in the hot pot because the soup broth was strong but after adding the sichuan sauce it was really nice as well.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Apart from Hot Pots I will be back for their dinners because they had some interesting items such as oysters, steamed alaskan crab legs with huadiao wine.
