Pacific Coffee x Vitasoy... More than just coffee

PC celebrates their silver jubilee this year by collaborating with Vitasoy, a local brand that all Hong Kongers know.  Hence there are a collection of Vitasoy-inspired coffee drinks and food as well as a limited edition co-branded glass mug.

The Black Soya Panna Cotta with Quinoa & Chia Seed is served in this cute little mug jar with a lid so I had to get it. It was so silky and delicious with a rich bean taste and it comes with a matching wooden spoon.

For drinks, had the Iced Vitasoy Soyabean Milk Latte which is Vitasoy Soyabean Milk mixed with their signature 18/25 Altura coffee, with black sugar jelly added to the bottom and crispy whole oat sprinkled on top.  The taste is smooth with a crispy twist yet it was quite delightfully bittersweet.

[Pacific Coffee] 2015 Christmas Cherry Pie

I was mainly captivated by the cherry tart and ended up getting the cake as well.
+++++++++++
Cherry pie:

Got the cherry pie because I love cherries but it seems like a hybrid between a pie and tart.
It’s more like a tart because it has weird a custard layer beneath the cherries which doesn’t make it a pie, while it looks visually like a pie, the pastry was tart pastry which was hard butter crust.
Anyway, the custard ruined the taste and made it too sweet hence it didn’t taste like a pie.
+++++++++++
Strawberry vanilla cake:

The chocolate sponge was good but the vanilla mousse was a bit sweet like white chocolate and there was not much strawberry taste.

Interesting pairing of apricot and chocolate

I was at Pacific coffee and this cake caught my eye because I don't often see chocolate cakes paired with apricot.
However you do get dried apricot chocolate bars.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chocolate apricot mousse cake:

There are not much apricots in the cake because on the other side of the cake there are no apricots (forgot to take a picture) .
Anyway, the mousse tasted clumpy but luckily the juicy apricots saved the day because the chocolate mousse was dry and tasteless and the white mousse on top just tasted like clumpy cream.

Oolong tea at Pacific Coffee Company

I was a bit bored with Jasmine and Earl Grey tea so this time chose oolong tea for a change.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
oolong tea:

When I took the lid off, I could see that the teabag was filled with shrivelled tea leaves, sadly they didn't unfold so the flavour was bland.

[Pacific Coffee] 2015 Xmas treats

I was mainly captivated by the cherry tart and ended up getting other stuff.
+++++++++++
Lemon and almond finger:

These were long strips of crispy puff pastry coated with lemon and almond slices. It tasted like Lemon Puffs with an extremely buttery taste so cookie lovers will like this.

Jasmine tea at Pacific Coffee

Stopped by for some Jasmine tea and found a comfortable spot to sit because there were not many people at this mall.

The Jasmine tea had a balanced floral and grassy tone to it which was pleasant to drink.

Black truffle and mushroom quiche

Previously Pacific Coffee only had two quiches but now they have quite a few flavours.

Tried the Black truffle and mushroom quiche.

The truffle taste was evidently truffle essence and the mushrooms were disappointing because they put Asian Shitaake mushrooms and enoki mushrooms.

Pacific Coffee's Chicken schnitzel

I was really hungry so got the Chicken schnitzel because I have tried the quiches, bagels and other stuff.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chicken schnitzel:

The chicken schnitzel tasted better than my expectation because I thought the chicken was going to dry after being reheated, however the chicken was crisp and juicy sandwiched with lots of lettuce and tomato.
The bun had lots of dried seeds such as sunflower seeds, flax seeds and maize which gave it an extra bite of flavour too.
Although it tastes really good, I always feel thirsty for the whole day after eating sandwiches from Pacific Coffee!

Cold reheated croissant

Pacific Coffee Company (Kowloon Tong)

Had to grab something quick, so got the croissant.

I asked them to reheat it for me but unfortunately it will still cold.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Butter croissant:

The good thing was that it came with butter but the butter was too hard and could not be spread.
Anyway, I had the croissant without the butter and it could have tasted better because if it was heated properly, it would have been softer and flakier.
The taste of the croissant was ok, it was buttery and not too oily.

onion bagel with eggless mayonnaise

Pacific Coffee Company (Central)

As I had a jar of delicious mayonnaise, I decided to get a crappy bagel from Pacific Coffee so that I could have mayonnaise with it.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Onion bagel:

It was heated up and the texture was dry and chewy.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Just mayo with the bagel:
It tasted so much nicer with the mayonnaise because the bagel was not so dry anymore and the lemony taste of the mayonnaise went nicely with the pieces of sweet onions in the bagel.

Just Mayo is cholesterol-free, egg free, dairy free, soy free, lactose free, gluten free, vegan, kosher and non-GMO mayonnaise which comes in two flavours Just Mayo and Chipotle Mayo.
The mayonnaise looked thick but it was effortlessly spreadable and the knife glides in it so well.
I tried it on its own and it was so similar to Hellmans but it had a stronger lemony kick.
Anyway, I slapped it generously on my bagel knowing that it was cholesterol free.
Plain bagel and mayonnaise was just delicious!!
I am not a vegetarian, but since the Vegetarian version tastes as good as real mayonnaise and good for your health, I would definitely buy Just Mayo!!
Just Mayo is made with yellow peas and will be available in HONG KONG soon, so watch out!

It's Banana time

Found out that there was a new Banana and chocolate drink so tried it.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Banana chocolate:

On first sip, it was too sweet!
There was a nice banana smell and the chocolate did not have a sour aftertaste, but the main problem was that the drink was too sweet.

Pacific Coffee (Macau)

This was the last stop in Macau before going back to Hong Kong.

Most of the items at Pacific Coffee were the same as the ones in Hong Kong.

Stopped by for a drink and tried the Lamington.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Lamington:

The Lamington in Macau was about 60% cream and 40% cake whereas the Hong Kong version is 30% cream and 70% cake.

Pacific coffee with a Chinese twist!

I didn't realize this branch was new but I liked it because it was different.

While I was there I tried the Babychoccino

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Babychoccino:

Babychoccino next to a tall sized drink.

Babychoccino is steamed milk with chocolate.
The taste was very milky with a hint of chocolate and it is warm on the top and gets colder nearer the bottom.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Nice front with a sitting out area.

Modern side:

Interesting Chinese things.
