2019 [Eggsentially Art] at Lee Gardens

Eggettes, Egglettes, Eggpuffs, EggWaffles whatever you call them are all the same thing.
These waffles which look like connected semi spheres is a popular street snack in Hong Kong that costs around $18-$60.
Some restaurants have taken them to the next level by serving them in a fancy and high end way.

At Lee Gardens, it is the third year running for Eggsentially Art where they have grouped together many popular eggette stalls in one place for two days.

Most of the eggettes cost $40-60 which makes it easy when buying cash tokens as they comes in bases of $20.

There is a stall directory with the eggettes and prices.

The first eggette stall that got my attention were the ready made eggettes which come frozen, which means you can have them at home by reheating it.
My favourite was the eggette smores sandwich and they did had eggettes with charsiu from GoodBBQ.
There were other creative flavours like fruit peel etc.

Cubus 28 had a pineapple one which is really similar to BOVE/MODOS in the sense that you get chewy pineapple in the middle.

The Tea eggettes are also worth mentioning as the eggettes are infused with tea served with ice cream from IGLOO.
They had white rabbit ice cream which was so good.

As well as eggettes, there are some new stalls serving HK style teas and egg tarts for that eggettastic experience.

Nissin ramen popup store at LOF10 Bar Dining

As a fan of Nissin noodles, I had to check out the Nissin ramen popup at LOF10 in Causeway Bay where they have decorated the place like a ramen joint with ramen bowls and Nissin figures.

On the menu special, there are four sets to choose from ranging from $88-$108, all including a noodle, dessert and drink.

For me, it is super difficult to decide which one to get but in the end I narrowed it down to the two.
It was either the soup or the one with luncheon meat so I settled for the soup one because of the okra.
The ramen turned out really good because the softness was just right and the broth was good with a poached egg which makes the broth even richer.

For dessert, there was the bubble eggette topped with syrup and rose petals.

Finished with a satisfying latte.

[2017] Eggsentially Art at Lee Gardens

Eggettes, Egglettes, Eggpuffs, EggWaffles these are all the same thing.
A waffle with connected semi spheres that is a popular street snack in Hong Kong that costs around $18-$50.

At Lee Gardens, they have held an eggette fair with many popular eggette stalls in one place.

Most of the eggettes cost $30 each which makes it easy when buying cash tokens as they comes in bases of $30.

There is a list of stalls with the eggettes they are offering.
There were some interesting flavours such as Takoyaki style from Fullhouse Egglet and Chocolate avocado from Mammy Pancake.

In the end I got eggettes from Eggspectation because I love their eggettes.
All their eggettes are made from duck eggs which was the traditional recipe back in the 1950s.
I tried the pork floss and seaweed which was really delicious because it was not too sweet and the pork floss tasted surprisingly good in the eggette.

I also tried the Lof10 style eggette which was topped with crispy parma ham.

Captivated by the butterfly : Oddies (Wan Chai)

I was drawn to this place after seeing pretty butterflies on the softserve.

It is a small shop which stands about one or two people.

The shop is plain white with artistic bits and pieces here and there.

The toppings were stored in these lovely glass jars.

When I went, there were three Italian soft gelato desserts to choose from: Oddies garden, red odd and white sand.
They were all unique which made it difficult to choose.
The oddies garden has matcha panna cotta at the bottom with fresh mango, sesame crumble, caramelized almond meringue, edible pansy flowers garnished with a beautiful butterfly on top.
The Red Odd was visually attractive because of the dotty strawberry jelly and smoked vanilla icecream.

Last but not least, the White sand had pineapple foam, honey sheet and a liquid filled bubble.

In the end I went for the White Sand and had some eggettes as well.

White sand:
Italian low fat soft gelato served with lychee, coconut crumble, cherries in kirsch, coconut condensed milk sorbet, coconut explosion, pineapple foam, millefeuille crisps and honey sheet

I was really glad I chose this because there were so many different but tasty elements in this.
The gelato was impressive because it was not too sweet and it went really well with the refreshing pineapple foam, then there was delicious cherries which were soaked in Kirsch.
Then at the bottom, there were fresh pieces of lychee.

I had the molecular bubble last which was a burst of lychee extract.
It was a great way to end the dessert because it was like a mini shot of juice.

Dark Chocolate gelato:

The chocolate gelato was rich and smooth.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
ham and cheese:

The ham and cheese was really good because the eggette was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with melted cheese here and there.
As a personal preference I would prefer a stronger cheese.

So Mexican:

The taste was a bit different to what I was expecting because it tasted more like Chicken tikka.
Anyway, I liked it because of the strong flavours.

Next time I am going to try the vanilla rice pudding eggette which should be interesting!
