[Beat] Feeling upbeat vibes after a visit to BEAT!

Discovered BEAT as I was in TST.

Noticed this shop because of the music Clef note with a B incorporated in the logo, when I got closer I found out it was a modern bakery by Tsui Wah but the style is totally different from the bakery counters at TW restaurants because they are not selling the usual Pineapple buns etc.

Tsui Wah has been getting more of my attention recently with their healthy options such as okra scrambled egg and the use of quinoa in its dishes.

BEAT was really captivating because they had colourful bakery made with natrual colourings like blueberries, squid ink and cranberries etc.
I was told that they do not use softening agents in their breads which makes them healthier.

The bakery is creative with names inspired by Chinese songs and lyrics for those who can read Chinese.

The sandwich selection is beautifully presented, the pink bread is made of rose while the orange one is made of carrot.

You can also buy the bread on it its own and they have this instaworthy leopard bread which is sold out early in the morning.

As well as bakery, they have energetic detox waters and detox fruit teas crammed with fruit to boost your mood.

I tried the blueberry cream cheese bun and the Soft European Pitaya and Cheese bread because I love cream cheese.
Both were soft and dreamy but the Pitaya (dragon fruit) had to be my favourite because not many bakeries use Pitaya on baked bread.

The blueberry cream cheese filling was really satisfying because you could taste real blueberries blended in the cream cheese.

The detox tea was sweet and hydrating infused with fruits while the detox water was more on the refreshing side.

I can't wait to try their new products and will have to come earlier for the leopard pattern loaf!!!!!

Bakery products from 759

759 was a shop selling preserved packaged food to start off with and now they have expanded into other businesses such as cosmetics, noodle joints and now a bakery too!
I wonder if we will see 759 Medical clinics, 759 Barbers, 759 Laundry, 759 Petrol Stations coming soon!!!

Initially 759 didn't appeal to me because the variety was limited and it was cheap and unhealthy packaged Asian snacks like noodles and crisps but now there is more European variety and they even have TIMOTEI shampoo.

I was curious to try their bakery because I love bread but in Hong Kong, it is either proper Western Bread or Sweet tasting savoury Chinese bread.

Walked past one day and bought some bread and muffins.
You can probably use your membership card on the purchase but I forgot to use mine and the lady at the till didn't remind me.

Double chocolate muffin:

The muffin was not outstanding but at least it looked like a muffin with pieces of chocolate in it.
It was not impressive but it was not too sweet, too oily or too crumbly.

Tomato corn toast:

Technically it is bread because it hasn't been toasted yet and it probably tastes better as a toast.
With good breads, they taste great on their own but the tomato bread required a filling to make it into a tasty sandwich.
The tomato taste was surprisingly good because you could taste tomato in almost every bite but saying that it was probably tomato flavouring mixed in the dough.
There were also pieces of sweetcorn in it too but I still classify this as a Chinese style bread because it was sweet and the texture of the bread was evidently Chinese and not yeasty at all.

Garden Old English sandwich bread

I never thought I would be reviewing something as basic as bread, but the bread and other baked items in Hong Kong taste really weird especially the texture and aftertaste.

Sometimes, it really annoys me that I need to go to expensive places for some simple damn bread.

Anyway, the Garden Continental bread is quite good if you compare it to other breads in Hong Kong, but average if you were to buy bread in the UK!~

Mysterious Black pearl @ BreadTalk

The name of this bread looked interesting because it was called the BLACK PEARL.

There was no indication on whether it was sweet or savoury but by the labelling I am guessing it was sweet because it was charcoal bread filled with black glutinous rice and mochi.

It was black and round.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
BLACK PEARL:
The filling in the charcoal bread was not that even because on the first bite it was mainly glutinous rice.

Towards the middle, there was less glutinous rice and more mochi.

The taste of this was quite nice because the bread itself was not too sweet and it was filled with chewy mochi and glutinous rice which gave it more depth.
The taste of the glutinous rice was quite strong which gives the bread most of its flavour along with its sweetness.

Sweet dark malt bread @ Kee Wah bakery

I was surprised to see that they sold bread at this shop.
I assumed it was just traditional Chinese bakery.
The dark malt toast got my attention, however I think it should be labelled as bread or called Bread on the packaging because it was still soft and not toasted.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
dark malt toast:
The bread was fresh so it was still soft.
It tasted like brown sugar flavoured bread with a strong malt taste.
If you treat it as a sweet bread without spreading butter it tastes nice.
There was a lovely malt smell too when you opened the bag.

Delicious rustique cheese and spinach bread

After reading Menty's review, the cheese and spinach rustique seemd worth trying and the Tart aux fromage as well.

When I got there, they had a similar item to the Tart Aux Fromage but with three cherries on it, I was really tempted to get that too but they looked a bit squashed.
So I ended up getting the Cheese and spinach rustique and the Tart Aux fromage.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Cheese and spinach rustique:
I got this because there was so much leafy spinach and cubes of cheese embedded in the dough before it was baked.
The taste was good because the cheese was really cheesy complimented by the spinach.
I would have liked the bun to be softer and not so chewy.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Tart Aux fromage:
This was really good too, the fromage filling was thick but not too heavy. The sweetness was just right.
Although it is called a tart, it was not actually a tart because the base was made from bread and not tart pastry, but it was shaped like a tart containing sweet fromage.
