500th Ajisen Ramen store in the mainland

Ajisen Ramen celebrates its 500th store in Japan, so there is some sort of promotion going on.

Tried the new products: Volcanic spicy noodles: and the Grilled minced chicken with cheese:.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Volcanic spicy noodles:
The noodles were paler than the product shot.
On the menu it was rated not so spicy, and the taste was Ok, not that spicy.
The pork turned out to be more delicious than they looked.
It reminds me of the braised pork belly in beancurd sauce, however the taste was that of “mouth watering chicken” [hau shui gaai].
The chilli they used was exactly the same as the “mouth watering one” leaving a minty feeling on the tongue.
The noodles were too sweet and the other flavouring could have been stronger.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Grilled minced chicken with cheese:
This tasted like the grilled minced chicken at Yoshinoya, but they were made of patties and two of them skewered on the stick with cheese on top.
There were some vegetables present in the minced chicken.
Overall, it tasted OK

Chinese afternoon tea buffet @ Cafe TOO!!

I was looking forward to the buffet at Café TOO, but it turned out to be a disappointment.

It seems that the Brunch and Dinner sessions had a better variety according to the reviews.
I was expecting more Western choices, but most of it was Chinese.

Quite a number of dishes were not labelled, so unless they were blatantly obvious or you are a local from HK, you wouldn’t know what it was.

The dim-sum was quite nice, and the fruit salad was the best, it was finely chopped pineapples, sweet strawberries, melons in orange juice.

The appetiser crystal noodle in sesame sauce was interesting, because the crystal noodles were thinner than the usual types.

In the hot section, there were some delicious things looking like green larvae, made of flour and green vegetables, but again they were not labelled.

The dessert section didn’t do very well, they were not very popular with the diners, and no one really took them.

There was some taro paste thing, which was pretty, but tasted too sweet, the red discs on it were Hawthorn cakes.

The chocolate éclair, which I thought was good, was a bit too sickly, the chocolate cream inside was a bit too sweet.

Fung Shing confusion at the cross boundary @ 鳳城新鴻苑

I 'd love to know if 鳳城小食 and 鳳城新鴻苑 were owned by the same owner, the shops are a few door away from each other and the names both have Fung Shing to begin with.

The reviews from the two restaurants appear to be mixed up, some that belong in the other one are in this one and some that belong in the other one appear in this one.

Anyway 鳳城小食 serves mainly snacks such as instant noodles, pork chops, and hot dogs, while 鳳城新鴻苑 serves Fung Shing dumplings and noodles.

I ordered the signature Fung Shing dumplings and fish skin dumplings.

The Fung Shing dumplings were nice, they seem to be a prawnier version of wonton with less meat and more prawns and some black fungus.
The shape is slightly longer not like the round wontons.

The fish skin wrapped dumplings were slightly too oily, but if they were deep fried, it would be delicious.

Instead of noodles they offer macaroni which is cool, I've never had macaroni with the traditional wontons!!
