Sweet tofu with green tea almond @ Chung's Dessert

Tried the Sweet tofu with green tea almond.

Sweet tofu with green tea almond
The tofu was silky smooth but it lacked the taste of soybean, it was no different to the ones that can be brought from the supermarket.
There was some sauce covering the tofu which tasted like watery condensed milk, and the green tea konjac was nice but slightly too sweet.

Stinging nettles used for food in Hong Kong?

As always there is no customer service and and their service is slow.
Came here again and ordered: Chicken with deep-fried Perilla leaves, Fish, Deep-fried tofu with Chiu Chow sauce

Chicken with deep-fried Perilla leaves
This is a popular dish served in most Chiu Chow style restaurants.
The one here was too salty and too oily.
I felt that the deep fried perilla leaves were not real perilla leaves because it gave my tongue a weird sensation.
I suspect that they were stinging nettles because when they are raw, they look the same.

Deep-fried tofu with Chiu Chow sauce:
The tofu was fried nicely and it was a nice golden yellow.
The sauce that came with it was really nice, it had chopped chives in it and there was a slight garlic taste.

Fish:
As always the fish tastes ok.

Crispy tofu rolled sheets:
These were complimentary with the fish, in Chinese they are called “hengling” which means some sort of bell.
I did not hear any noises except that it makes a crunch when you bite into it, however when you dip it in the broth, it becomes soft and elastic.

Roast meat restaurant hidden amongst the market


 
This roast meat shop is well camouflaged amongst the fish stalls and butchers that you will easily miss it.
As well as selling roast meats to take away, it is also a restaurant.
I got the roast pork with rice for $24 and it comes with soup.
As well as the roast pork I had the chance to try the roast meat, the roast meat had crispy skin and the skin was nice and it tasted like it had sesame oil on it.

The roast pork looked visually lean, but it was extremely fat.
Every time you took a bite in it, you could feel the fat in between the meat and the texture was the same as pork neck meat except for the roast pork was much softer.
Luckily the meat was not too salty or too sweet.

Soup
The soup was watercress soup and there was a huge piece of fruit peel in it.
The pork used for this broth did not seem that fresh, hence the fruit peel was probably used cover that up.
