Delaney's carvery @ Delaney's

As always you can always find your comfort roast right here!

Usually at the carvery there is beef or lamb and nearer Christmas there is Turkey as well.
However the stuffing is different to the stuffings served at other pubs.
The stuffing here is not baked.
For the greens, there is boiled spinach, pea and sprouts, and for the asian choice you will find shitaake mushrooms and sweetcorn.

Before the roast there is a choice of salad or soup. I usually get the salad but sometimes the soup is also good such as tomato and crab.
To finish off there is proper tea brewed with fresh leaves and not teabags.

Maxim's touching series - Nice packaging

Saw some interesting items at Maxim's which looked like packets of crisps, but when I went closer I found out they were cookies and puffs. The rest of the range had tubes of cookies and other stuff. The design was nice, mainly white with some colours on it.
On the back, I think it saids something about the designer or the designs. Anyway, the puffs were not what I was expecting, they were baked puff pastry in butterfly form.
The brown sugar taste was strong, but I did not like the strong buttery smell which is typical of the Chinese bakery. As well as that was passed a chocolate cake by someone.
It just tasted like the usual Maxim's cake.

Chicken wings singled out!! @ V8

Again a treat from the locals, there was a choice of Salt and Pepper chicken wings, Honey chicken wings and these chicken wings on single bones.

I chose these because they were on single bones which made it more convenient to eat.

Surprisingly they tasted quite nice, however there were some stringy bits on the batter.
Not sure whether they were part of the batter or feathers from the wings.

Layered chocolate cake by Cova Ristorante & Caffe

After trying the Quintuple cake by Arome bakery, decided to try the richer version by Cova.
It was rich and strong.
However it was slightly too hard and not as soft as Awfully chocolates version.

Christmas 2011 series @ BreadTalk

Tried the Christmas series at Breadtalk which were just the same items as sold in A1 Bakery, however they both had a Holly leaf stuck on which made it Christmassy.

The first item was a sweet baguette dusted with sugar and soaked with egg and baked, similar to bread pudding.
The other item was a chocolate bread roll filled with custard.
