Lemon tart @ Starbucks

Anyway, after I tried Starbucks version of the Lemon tart I decided to try PC's version to compare.
It was totally too sweet.
The tart base was chocolate flavoured, and the lemon filling was too cloyingly sweet that it stings the throat.

I prefer the staff at the other branches of PC.

~Quezon~Quezon~Quezon~Quezon~

Got the meal with a choice of vegetables and a meat dish.
To be honest I do not know what the meat dish was.
It was red in colour with small diced potato cubes, peas, carrots and shredded meat.
The annoying thing was that I couldnt tell what meat it was.
I thought it was duck intially but then it seemed like Lamb.

Seriously too cute and sweet for health @ Juicy Bear

This juice bar used to be some Taiwanese beverage joint.

Now it is brightly decorated with a display of fresh fruits surrounding the counter and staff cutting the fruit. The juice bar has a cute bear paw logo with a polar bear inside the paw. The logo and font stands out as it has used blue and orange which are complementary colours on the colour wheel.

On the menu it offers mostly juice, however they also have fruit vinegars and sorbets too.
I felt like a detox so ordered juice.
I thought the fruits were going to be freshly cut and juiced but they already had pre-cut ones in the fridge to save time.
One of the fruits in this juice mixture was HAMI-MELON and while they were preparing to put other fruits in the blender I saw them pour syrup in the blender!!!
Its meant to be a juice bar for the health conscious and they put syrup in the fruit juice!
This is the first juice bar that I have come accross that adds syrup.
HAMI-MELON is super sweet itself that it dosnt need any more syrup.
The staff at the juice bar claimed that all girls liked to have syrup added.
As well as syrup, water and ice were also added.

I just felt that this juice bar defeated its purpose of being healthy by adding syrup!
Just like a restaurant claiming to be MSG free and adding twice as much salt.

Pan fried Pot stickers with Crab roe powder @ 南城北市

Saw these Crab roe powder filled pot stickers on their seasonal promotional poster.
They cost $25 for 4.
I got them because I havent tried pot stickers with crab roe powder.
The shape of these pot stickers are not crescent form like the Shanghai ones, but rectangular like the ones served at Four Seas Dragon.
Anyway, the pot sticker skin was so dehydrated, hard and dry.
My jaws were so tired after eating two of these pot stickers.
The filling was bland and there was no crab roe powder in it at all or any hint of crab taste.
I felt that it was slightly too expensive and the pot sticker skin was not fresh at all.

The Best tom yum kung @ Ra Cha Moo Yang

I have never liked Tom Yum Kung or perhaps I have never had an authentic one.
The only impression I got from it was the strong taste of lemon grass.

The Tom Yum Kung here really surprised me again.
In general most of their food is good so I decided to try their Tom Yum Kung as well.
I never knew they had this dish until I read OpenRice.

I had the TKY with vermicelli. They said I had to pick something to go with the noodles so I picked the chicken.
I tried the TKY there twice, once eating there and once to takeaway, it is cheaper for Takeaways but the soup is not concentrated.
The best thing was, the chicken was the freshly sliced chicken that is used in their chicken rice dish.
The vermicelli is the super thin type that absorbs the soup.

Take away soup version
Take away soup version

Takeaway version:The takeaway version of the soup is so light that it is like Miso soup where the particles separate after standing for a while.
The soup was not as creamy as the dine in version, it was more watery. The spicyness was toned down but the sourness was still strong. The tomato taste wasn’t that strong either.

Eat in Version:The soup was very spicy, but it only stings the throat. It was nice and creamy with a strong tomato taste.
If I had not tried the dine in version, I think I would have just got an average impression from their takeaway version.
