Cute and nicely packaged Pandan cookies and cakes @ Fresh Fresh

I have always wanted to try their bakery but they are located in Kwai Fong and Tuen Muen which is too far.

Luckily they had a stall at Hollywood plaza so I was able to buy their cookies and cakes. I bought the pandan cake which was a mini one for $38 and some cookies.
The cookies were assorted and had cranberry, pandan and chocolate. The pandan was my favourite.
As for the Pandan cake it was delicious too, you could smell the Pandan coming out from the box and it was not too sweet. The donuts looked like novelties too. Apart from the delicious food, their packaging and design was great.

Aftering searching for this restaurant on OpenRice, it seems there is now one in Kowloon, so I will go to this branch next time.

Bird's nest mooncake @ Wing Wah 2012

Egg custard and diced egg yolk:
This was really nice and the egg yolk was not that salty, the overall texture was slightly starchy.

Bird's nest in custard with sweet potato and bean paste:
I was expecting this to taste nice but the smell was really artificial.
It smelt like playdoh.
I was not expecting a fair amount of bird's nest but it could not be seen in the filling with the naked eye.

In conclusion the Cherry flavour and Pandan flavour tastes the best.

Horlick's McFlurry @ McDonalds

Previous tried the Horlicks Sundae and it was really nice so I decided to get the Horlicks double Sundae, but it turns out only some places have the double sundae and at other branches it is served after 9pm only.

As I could not order the double I decided to try the McFlurry.

Horlicks McFlurry :
Compared to the sundae version, this was sweeter because it had wheat as well which was sweetened.
The texture of the icecream was thicker because it was whipped vigorously with the McFlurry spoon and became elastic.

Finally tried Butao King @ the Causeway Bay branch

Previously I have tried the Green King, Black King and Red King which were all nice, but I really wanted to try the off menu specials such as the Prawn King and Curry King.

This time they had the Prawn King but it was sold out, so I tried the Butao King.

Butao King: I was surprised the broth was not as strong as the other flavours but when it was served there was lots of pork collagen floating on top.
After trying the most original flavour I think the Green King tastes the best.

In terms of the three branches I prefer the Tsim Tsa Tsui branch but in terms of taste I like the Central branch. TST Butao Branch:

Swedish meatballs @ IKEA Bistro

Came here for the Swedish meatballs because they are a cheap and fast fix when you’re in a hurry.

This time there was lots of jam but less gravy so it was slightly too sweet.
However the meatballs were not hot enough.
