Dining higher and higher in Central @ Oolaa

Oolaa is located on Bridge Street which is quite high up hence the reason why I was too lazy to go up there.
Went there for dinner finally and it was quite nice. If this place was more accessible I would try their pizza for breakfast because they have the Dynamite Pizza which has molten Cheddar cheese & Vegemite. Not many places in Hong Kong serve food with VEGEMITE!
It would be good if this pizza was available a la carte too.

truffle mashed potatoes:
The mashed potatoes were really delicious, truffle oil was infused in the mashed potatoes.

Salad Niçoise:
This was seared peppered tuna, silver anchovies and lemon vinaigrette.
It was slightly different too because it had seared tuna, usually it is canned cooked tuna. The anchovies were slightly bigger than usual too.

Minted Green Pea Risotto: This was minted green pea risotto with king prawns, mixed herbs and pecorino cheese.
I liked the minty taste because it was natrual and not that strong.

Veggie pizza:
The pizza was covered with lots of mushrooms, red onions, olives, bell peppers and asparagus with pesto drizzle.
I am not fond of pesto, but the pesto sauce they used here was really nice and made the pizza delicious.

Cooked food from a hole in a wall juice joint

I was on my way to Joy Hing Roast but the roads were a little difficult to cross so I gave up and decided to walk elsewhere when I saw this juice joint.
I was really surprised that in a small vicinity they were able to produce up to five different dishes.
Basically you can choose two choices with rice for $23 which does not include a drink.

chicken steak:
On the menu it seems to be black bean flavoured but I could not taste any black beans. I could only taste garlic.
The chicken steak was quite nice anyway, it just tastes home made, ie marinated at home with crushed garlic and a bit of sugar and pan-fried.
The only downside is that they are really stingy with the chicken!

courgettes:
These tasted how it should, ie cooked in garlic.

A kiss of pandan @ Kisses Cupcakes

I have previously read the reviews here but they did not really get my attention because the icing looked really heavy.

Anyway went past this cake shop and decided to go in and have a look.
Saw that they had the pandan flavoured cup cake so tried it as I am a pandan freak.

pandan flavoured cup cake:
Compared to the other cup cakes, the rest were covered with thick icing, the green stuff on top looked like buttercream.
Overall this cup cake was better than anticipated, the pandan taste and smell was strong, and after you finished it, there was still pandan taste lingering in the mouth.
The only negative comment was that it was too sweet.
