Limited edition pandan doughnut from Crosstown

The pandan doughnut has been a popular seller for Lunar New Year at Crosstown and it is only available for a limited time each year.
Although their doughnuts are pricey, I felt I had to try because it is a unique flavour and you won't find many pandan doughnuts around.
Visually, the cross was faint compared to the doughnut on display but the overall taste was amazing.
I was really impressed with the doughnut base because it was bready with a chew and not like American style doughnut.
The icing and doughnut had a fantastic pandan flavour and the coconut custard was moreish without being too sweet of sickly.
Well done JP Then and Adam Wills.

Crosstown Victoria and Soho:

Japanese Tea and musubi at Katsute 100

Katsute is a quaint Japanese tea room which started off in Angel/Islington.
Currently there are two branches with the second on Brick Lane.
I went on a quiet evening and had hojicha which was really impressive as quality tea leaves were used.
Overall, it was really good and affordable.

Revisited this branch again because they were doing tea sets with musubis.
I love Japanese musubis which are basically flavoured or filled rice balls.
Zen musubi are doing a cross over with Katsute on Brick Lane available on thurs and fridays.
Definitely a good deal because a musubi costs £5 at the stalls and here you get two with tea for £6.50.
The tea alone at katsute is at least £3.95.
£1 extra for gyoyuko.
The seaweed musubi was delicious as expected, the rice was infused with seaweed flavours.

The Pier Fish & Chips, Greenwich

Visited this place randomly, the portions were huge.
Unfortunately, the chips were not really hot and have been sitting in the cabinet for a while.

Peter's fish and chips, Harlesden

Spotted this really good chippy with chippy cones but didn't get anything because my quota was wasted on an earlier visit to the chippy.

oatly free drink popup at Westfield Stratford

Oatly were doing a popup over the weekend offering free drinks made with oatly milk at Westfield Stratford.
It is part of a new campaign, which features Norm & Al, the puppet duo who are on a mission to help people go plant-based via the medium of song and interpretive dance.
There was a choice of tea, coffee and hot chocolate from kiss the hippo.
I was so glad I tried the hot chocolate because it was really decadent without being too sweet and I loved the oatly whipped cream on top which was creamy and dreamy.
While you are there you can watch the screening of the new norm & al puppet show.
Location: Chestnut Plaza
Friday (January 28) and Sunday (January 30).

roasting plant were also giving away free coffee but I didn't make it.
