£4.75 Lunch Boxes and £7.95 Lunch and evening sets at Kings Cross Tandoori

Spotted this Tandoori house a while back and made a mental note to go.

It is the first Indian restaurant along the road if you are coming from the station so the other two are quite competitive doing similar deals.

Anyway, dined here one evening.

The well suited guy was really nice and welcoming so were the other staff.

Tried the Special set for £7.95 which is the same for lunch and the evening, you get a choice of a starter and a main served with rice and nan.

Chose the masala which was on the sweet side.

Returned in the day and got the curry lunch box for £4.75 where it is the same as the dine in set, you get nan and riced as well.

The curry was light and just right for lunch so I am so glad I tried it however the starter seemed to be missing but I was full anyway.

Will return to try their other stuff.

VE Day special at Poppies with fish bites and chips for 13p, CAMDEN

For VE Day, Poppies were serving Fish bites and chips at the 1945 price of 13p were all proceeds from the sales of ‘Fish Bites & Chips’ will go to veterans charity The Not Forgotten.
I got my share for 13p and regretted not getting more because the fish bites were so good.

Overall, this branch is so much nicer than the Notting hill Branch were the stuff was overdone.

There was onion vinegar so don't miss out on it.

On the downside they serve pre cut chips that are delivered to them which I suspected anyway from the regular shape and texture of the chips.

Spud Hut, London Bridge

Finally some proper English food in Touristy London Bridge.

A lovely standalone unit to have Jacket potatoes with nice potato crates on the top of the hut.

I am so glad this popped up earlier this year because lot of cafes and traditional places have disappeared.

For tourists hoping to try English food, there is finally something that is what we eat here.

As well as traditional options, there are jazzed up choices like Jackets with bangers and gravy, Mexican style, Indian style etc.

I had the Mexican which was loaded with guacamole, sour cream etc, very satisfying and it was good to see them offer tea and coffee as well as most places don't serve these days.

Will be back for another jacket.

New colourful drinks at Pret, Order the unusual.
Purple Ube brulee latte, spirulina macaron latte and matcha.
Glad to see an Asian ube flavour drink at Pret.
Funnily enough, the Prets in Asia have never offered this flavour before or maybe they will soon.
Overall, nice ube flavours but it does not contain brulee syrup according to the recipe sheet but caramel.

Asian Sushi bar Sushinoya opens in St Pancras Station

A new sushi bar opened and was captivated because they had this interesting [Omakase to go].
For those in the know, omakase is the chef preparing the best for you in short.
The concept here is that you decide what you want from the sushi collection ie you build your own sushi box like pick and mix only available on Wednesdays.
Although its Japanese, there are some Korean elements on the menu like bibimbap onigiri and bingsu.
After talking to the manager, it turns out that they also own a Korean restaurant nearby and they want to offer more since there is another Japanese restaurant right next to it.

Caffe nero iced strawberry matcha

The matcha had strong grassy vibes while the strawberry vanilla was very sweet.

Victorian Cafe in Wimbledon

I was so excited when I spotted this.
Turns out to be an Italian deli/caffe.
Will return to try it some day.
