Ube & Mandarin Tart at Cord by Le Cordon Bleu

Stumbled accross CORD by Le Cordon Bleu on fleet street.
I thought this was a cooking academy but it was a cafe offering pastries and food supplied by them.
My eyes locked on the ube mandarin tart so had to get it.
It was interesting they had ube as an ingredient because I thought they'd be traditional on flavours.
Anyway, it did not disappoint.
The tart base was actually edible unlike other places where they use frozen ones that taste off and the butter has gone rancid to state that you can smell.
The mandarin was amazing, citrus and sharp.
Definitely to my liking as it wasn't mango while the ube was strong, you could really taste that earthy sweetness in that light mousse cream.
The only thing I didn't like was the crunch in the middle.
Also naughtily got a dark chocolate pumpkin croissant to take home which has a strong cinnamon pumpkin filling.
