Malaysian Egg rolls @ Sisters Kitchen

After seeing the photos of the egg rolls on OpenRice, I found them quite appealing so I bought some to try. I have not tried these before nor do I know what they are.
I thought they were sweet pancakes at first with chocolate sauce drizzled over it according to the photos posted on OpenRice.

Anyway, got some egg rolls and the Buk Kut Teh soup.

They also had CHICK kut Teh soup which sounds cute because it is chicken instead of pork!
I wonder if they have it in Malaysia because there are lots of religions there that can not eat pork. ★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★ Popiah Egg rolls:
They looked quite different from the rolls sold two months ago, they did not have any sauce on it. (Left top corner of this picture)
I asked if there was meant to be any sauce so they gave me some vinegar which looks nothing like the sauce used before because the sauce on the picture is thick. Inside the rolls were mostly white carrots, a few shreds of cucumber and some crushed peanuts.
The roll was sweetish with some Satay sauce taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★ Buk Kut Teh soup:
The soup tasted really nice but there was too much oil on top.
The herb taste was really strong especially the wolfberries.
In the soup there were button mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, tofu puffs, beancurds and a piece of pork ribs.

Laksa from a food court @ Sergeant Chicken Rice

Food republic originates from Singapore, so I thought it would be fun to get some singapore food from Sargeants, the Laksa was ok, a good variety of seafood in it, and the soup was strong, however they leaves sprinkled on top were not Laksa leaves, but lemon grass.

Salty stir-fried instant noodles @ 家常靚餸

Felt like some stir fried instant noodles, so this was the only place in the food court that had it.

I asked for the black beans and spareribs one (chinese: gone chow see jiu pai gwut gung jai mean)
which means it is the dry noodles.

After waiting for a while, the lady waved me over to tell me, they don't do dry style, which is weird, since it did say "gone chow".
They said it will only be cooked with black peppar, anyway I chose a different noodle, the Satay flavour.

It was ok, but way too Salty.

Interesting items, some worth trying @ 相聚茶寮

An all day dim sum located in a food court.

Quite cool, cos they have an English menu as well as facebook with their product shots, however there is an item on FB that is not currently available that i really wana try, the deep fried prawn roll with five spices.

FACEBOOK site: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/jiang-jun-ao/xiang-ju-cha-liao/206418548560
The items that I want to try: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs471.ash1/25835_401080903560_206418548560_3776592_426384_n.jpg

There was an interesting steamed rice which had pumpkin and spare ribs, but didnt taste spectacular.
The fried fish cake was too much batter, and the best item which is a must try is the beancurd rolls in abalone soup. usually it is fatty pork, but this one is chicken, with shredded carrots and cabbage which give it a sweet taste. The soup it was in was clear sweet broth.

The chili sauce provided was excellent, it tasted like chili bean sauce mixed with something.
The rice roll with crunchy fish was interesting, it had pieces of batter inside.

The service is very good, and the girl that works there is really cute.
