There are now four Korean joints in Wan Chai, and this one appealed to me the second most because of the rice rolls.
There were three sets or you can just get the rolls on their own.
I got the tuna to takeaway.

KIMBAP Vegetarian:
While I was waiting, she gave me a Vegetarian one to try which was refreshing and moist because it was packed with vegetables in it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
KIMBAP Tuna:
The tuna roll was plain and simple.
It had tuna, carrots, cucumber and sesame sprinkled on top.
The taste was ok but it was a bit simple compared to K-Roll.

Baby lotus roots salad
I was in the area so tried this shop because they had baby lotus root salad.
The last time I had it was at a Japanese restaurant where there was only one as a decorative element.
The lotus roots are really cute, they are like thin rods with six capillaries.
They were crunchy drenched in delicious sweet garlic sauce.
The boneless Thai feet salad was also good but it was a bit too spicy for me.
After I left, there was a local TV station filming that shop.

HK's McDonald's German chicken sausage burger 2014
To get ready for the footie season, McDonald's have launched the German chicken sausage burger which was popular last year.
The German chicken sausage burger has Emmental cheese, saukeraut, dill mustard, chicken sausage and a spicy chicken patty, the same as the one in the crispy chicken burger.
Previously tried a trial version which was much better because the chicken was not spicy and it had lemon dressing.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
German chicken sausage burger:
I loved the emmental cheese because it has a cheesier taste than McD's regular processed cheese complimented by the tangy saukeraut.
It was a nice filling burger for someone with a large appetite because it had a chicken patty sausage with a lovely herb taste, a nice change from pork or beef sausage.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Potato wedges:
As usual the wedges were delicious with a flavoured coating.

KFC's Congee
Hong Kong's KFC are no good with fried chicken but their Fried Dough sticks were a success.
When they started their Fried Dough sticks a while ago they did not offer congee, but now they do!!!!!
There is a big size and small size.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chicken congee:
It came in a big plastic bowl.
It was quite impressive because the congee was not oily compared to other places and contained in a sturdy plastic bowl which did not have any CFC odour to it.
The taste was quite good but it was slightly bland with lots of chicken in it that was soft tender white meat.

The fried dough sticks were as good as before, they were not oily with a fresh soft chewy centre and a crispy exterior.

A taste of Chatuchak
As I haven't been to Thailand before let alone Chatuchak, I was glad that this joint serves the famous Coconut icecream from Chatuchak street.
Ironically, it is located right next to this coconut milk beverage joint which has been there for years.
[I wonder if they are competitors or partners!!]
I specifically came here for the NC coconut jelly but they said it was sold out even though there were two in the fridge which is the same packaging as the one on their FB.
[It was probably reserved for the media].
Sampled their coconut icecream which was not bad.
As I came all the way to MK, decided to try the dessert served in a coconut shell which is basically the famous Chatuchak coconut icecream served in a coconut shell with coconut flesh and a topping.
Some of the flesh is partially scooped for your convenience.
For $25, you get a mini cup of coconut water and a free topping.
The toppings you can choose are coconut gels, cornflakes, palm coconut, red beans and more but I would like to see glutinous rice as an option too.
It was a bit troublesome paying and collecting the dessert because MK is really crowded.
I was given the coconut water which I downed imediately or I wouldn't have hands for the dessert.
The coconut water comes from the coconuts and not the cans displayed beside it.
It was quite good that they gave you that because when they open the coconut the water isn't wasted and it freshens your mouth with a nice coconut aroma before you start the icecream.
After i finished that, the dessert came which was served in a small coconut shell wrapped in some paper.
I chose cornflakes as a topping because the cornflakes were unsweetened.
Beneath the scoop of icecream, there was scraped coconut meat from the shell.
I loved it because the coconut icecream was like icy sorbet with pieces of coconut meat in it with a creamy taste that was complemented nicely by the cornflakes which had a tad of saltiness to it.
As i finished most of the icecream, the coconut meat was pretty hard to scrape using their plastic spoon.
For improvements, it would be good if they scraped all the flesh because their spoons are not made for tough use.
While I was eating there this woman also had trouble finishing off the flesh at the bottom and queried the girl about it.
The staff was really nice and helped her scrape the rest.
However the scraper was not immediately washed and placed back in the holder so when they next use it that person will get her saliva.
Apart from that, it was really delicious because the coconut flesh tastes creamier with more mouthfeel compared to the young coconut flesh which is softer.
Next time I am in MK, I will try the coconut jelly.

Floppy and soft tempura!
丸亀製麵 (樂富)
Had a craving for Marugame Seimen's tempura so went here because I was nowhere near TST.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Squid tempura:
The tempura coating was awful!!
It was soft and greasy which was totally different to the one I had at TST.
If the coating was normal, the long piece of squid should not flop!~
I felt sorry for the people if this was their first visit to Marugame Seimen because it won't be good!

Unsatisfactory Bugis Corner
大蝦干撈專門店 (尖沙咀)
Only dined here because I was in a rush.
You need to get a ticket from the counter and wait.
For lunch, there are a few sets including drinks.
I tried the prawn noodles.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Signature prawn lo mein:
The noodles were really disappointing because the menu claims the sauce has strong prawn taste which it dosn't and the sauce just tasted sweet.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Hot barley water:
The hot pearl barley was too sweet so I had to dilute it with water and I overheard the girl on the other table saying her cold pearl barley drink was too sweet as well.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Bulgis Street is a famous place in Singapore in the 1950s - 1980s for nightly gathering of trans women.

Lovely crispy tofu @ 川婆婆
Tried this place because no one was dining there.
They have noodles or snacks and for more filling food, there are main dishes.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Typhoon shelter style tofu:
The tofu was perfectly done, the outside was perfectly crisp while the inside was like liquid tofu.
However it lacked taste which should make it suitable for people on a low sodium diet.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Shredded chicken and bean sheets:
I did not like this because it was too syrupy sweet and spicy.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
I think I made the wrong choice because their main dishes looked better.
