Portugese chicken and rice @ The Dog House

Ranging from Western food to Asian foods such as Portugese chicken.

Anyway the usual soup/salad, drink is included with the set lunch, and it was a bonus to get fruit after the tea and meal.

Food wise, it was good, my friend chose Portugese chicken and rice, which turned out be best, I was biased into thinking it would not taste good, because of all the HK styled ones being strong in coconut and sweetness. But here it tastes really really good.
Also the pasta was good, I did find a piece of small clamshell, but eating food with shell fish, you should be careful anyway.

So here are the pictures of Asparagus salad and grilled chicken with black peppar sauce for this visit.
The staff are very friendly, and they even let me borrow their pretty skirt, as I spilt some stuff on mine!!

Noodles @ 西貢松記車仔麵

Came here on a busy weekend, expecting it to be a nomal restaurant where you sit down and order, but it isnt.
Everyone has to queue outside the shop to choose their noodle and ingredients when they reach the counter, and then have it brought to their seat after ordering.

As it was the weekend, there was a long queue, so I came back on a weekday, fewer people, but still had to go through this business of choosing at the noodle counter.

Anyway I got my noodles, the noodles were rather soft, over soft I would say, with the soup base, it tasted a bit bland. I think next time I will just have the gravy without the soup, but I don't think it will be so soon. Even the car noodles Anton street taste better, also more choice of ingredients.

Dreamy fluffy chocolate @ Caffe Pascucci

All the way from Italy, a truly Italian coffee shop in Hong Kong, a menu loaded with choice and attractive pictures.
www.pascucci.it

It took me ages to decide, I wanted to try everything, luckily I could limit my choice to half, since as I don't not drink coffee, yet I was also tempted to try the yoghurt one, since the coffee is only a tiny amount.

Anyway I ordered the chilled Coconut Pas Ciock (chilled coconut chocolate), served exactly like the pictures, I liked it so much, because you can treat it as a drink or dessert.
My chocolate was thick as a smoothie, you could drink it with a straw or spoon it like a dessert. The texture was so light, almost like whipped cream, but lighter, with bits of super fine blended ice. The chocolate was so creamy, not the cocoa taste, and it had bits of dessicated coconut in it, as well as that, you can taste the aromatic flavor of coconut as well. On top were little pieces of dusted chocolate nuggets. The rum of the glass was dusted with coconut too. One cup is not enough!!!!!
I want more.

Helping the society @ 甜蜜蜜新生咖啡店

Teresa New Life Coffee Shop is a coffee shop in rememberance of Teresa Tang, and also helping people with problems to fit in society.

Anyway, came for tea, so ordered the chocolate cake and coffee, while we sat down, the shop was continually filled with people coming and going. Alot of the people were willing to sit with others just like the Chinese cafes.

There were quite a range of cakes and little snacks such as tofu cheesecake, wester soup, chicken wings and more

Laksa and Buk kut teh @ 馬拉盞星馬美食 Malaysia (Port Klang) Cuisine Limited

Usually I satisfy my Laksa cravings on the Hong Kong side, but after finding out there is one in MK, I decided to give it a try.
Looking at the menu, I felt like I had seen it before, one of the staff looked familiar too, then after enquiring about it, he was the guy from "YEOH'S BAH KUT TEH" in Jordan

Ordered the Pork rib tea and seafood laksa, price wise, it is all cheaper than the ones in Wanchai, ie Pasar and Katong. The laksa soup here is rather bland, nothing like the strong ones in Wanchai, just like the previous review by Kwokmauyan.
The pork rib tea, tasted ok, not strong in herbs, and contained alot of fatty meats.

Also the barley water I ordered way MEGA too sweet, I even poured a third of it into a glass of warm water, and still it was so sweet.

Noodles in Abalone sauce @ Star of Canton

Overall the food was good, especially the noodles, I thought the dumplings could be improved since the skin is cracked. Also the Abalone puff (chinese name), I assumed it would be a baked pastry of some sort, but it wasnt, it was just an over cooked roll, made of pancake/wonton pastry.

Liquid chocolate at last @ Caffe Pascucci

I have finally satisfied my hot chocolate craving with a real delicious cup of hot chocolate, by that I mean real melted chocolate texture, not the strong cocoa based drink with a milky after taste.

Anyway, the chocolate here is literally as thick as fondue, sauce like, and when you drink it it still remains thick. I managed to see the machinery for the hot chocolate, it is constantly stirred to keep it thick and runny, or else it will go lumpy.

I also appreciated the temperature of the hot chocolate, not boiling, but just the right temperature that you can drink without burning yourself.

As for the tortellini, not as good as I thought it would be, but I intend to try the Ravioli next time.
