Lab Made + HK ⇨ L❤ve HK N-icecream flavours

I do not like Cantonese food because it is a lot of weird fusion but decided to try the Hong Kong crispy toast because it was ice-cream.
After trying that, when the flavours changed, they had mooncake so I tried that as well!

I rarely eat Chinese mooncakes because I do not like savoury and sweet tastes mixed together.

I get addicted to the ice-creams at Lab Made because of the flavours and the sweetness is never too sweet!

They put real ingredients into the ice-cream rather than fake flavouring!

After my experience with the apple crumble with REAL pieces of Apple and REAL pieces of Crumble I had no hesitation ordering their crispy toast because it would have real pieces of toast in it.
The week they started doing mooncake as well so I decided to group the Hong Kong flavours on this review.
The purple rice should be in this review too but I tried that when they opened so it was on my first review.

It would be fun if they made savoury ice-cream too! I would definately try it if it purely savoury!

Mooncake $44:
The appearance of this was really similar to the apple crumble because there was crumbs on top.
I really liked this and I chose this over an ice-cream mooncake too because the ice-cream mooncakes are just ice-cream inside a chocolate shaped mooncake!
This one had REAL lotus seeds in it, the lotus seeds were slightly bitter but kept its starchy texture in the ice-cream.
The sweetness was perfect and it was not too sweet.

HK Crispy toast $38:
This was ice-cream, toast, peanut butter and condensed milk!
I loved the crispy toast bits together with the ice-cream and the combination of that tasted really nice.
When I ate it, the crispy bits of toast remained crispy.

It was really good Lab Made has made me like something that I do not like usually.
I think it is mostly to do with the temperature, texture and the fact it was mixed into ice-cream!
Who doesnt like icecream??? tongue

The biggest swiss rolls and the famous egg tarts

This place is famous for egg tarts but everytime I came past there was a queue.
But this time I came late at night and there was no queue and surprisingly the egg tarts were quite hot too.

As well as egg tarts they had a few items that were pandan flavoured which are my favourite.

The swiss rolls were HUGE! I have never seen swiss rolls as big as this, the diameter was at least 7inches by 5inches tall!
It is a pity you cant see how huge these swiss rolls are but in one of the reviews the slice is too big that you need to split it in half!!

Egg tarts $5:
The egg tart was still hot when I ate it.
The pastry was quite thick but there was lots of flakey layers and air in between so it was quite light.
Luckily the buttery taste was light, and the egg filling tasted like custard which was good but I just didnt like it too sweet.

Pandan cake $12:
Although the egg tart was too sweet, the sweetness of this was just right, and the pandan flavouring was nice and strong.
The cake was extremely soft too.
The size of the cake was quite big too, about 4 inches in diameter.

Gouda cheese bun series @ Maxim's

Saw the gouda cheese buns and I couldnt decide which one to get so I got both.
I liked the idea of having gouda cheese inside the bun because gouda cheese has a quite a strong taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Gouda cheese bun: $8
As with all Maxim's bakery the filling is in the middle and you have to eat your way almost half into the bun before you get to the filling, but once you get to the filling, its delicious, the cheese is strong and gooey.

Smoked ham & gouda cheese bun $9:
Similar to the above, there is an extra slice of ham on top with grilled cheese.
The ham is more like a sausage slice.
I found this one saltier and the ham was not real ham but similar to luncheon meat.

Delicious runny scrambled eggs @ Fairwood

I love the scrambled eggs here and the thick toast so I general have it if I can wake up in the mornings!!!!!!!
As you can see the egg is scrambled but it is still runny which is delicious. Along with the egg there is a piece of toast which toasted just right because of the thickness, crispy on the outside and sligthly soft in the middle.
There was also spam which is my favourite too which is better than being given thinly sliced ham.
To me thinly sliced ham is for sandwiches and toasts. In Hong Kong it is so weird they re-fry it and serve it for breakfast!

As well as that there was vermicelli as well.
The vermicelli was nice because of the preserved vegetables, however it was a bit weird having vermicelli and Western style breakfast together.
