Back for more clean and tasty street snacks at The Lobintan

As I was in the area, I stopped by for more snacks.
The fishballs were big, soft and springy and the Chinese radishes were sweet.

Then I tried the peppery balls which were made with stomach and it was surprisingly tasty because it tasted like Vietnamese sausage meat.

For drinks I had the honey Chrysanthemum tea which was sweet and good for dry throats.

I didn't try this but my friend said it was nice and chewy just like mochi covered in spicy sauce paired with crispy pieces of fried chicken.

Maxim's weird lemon chicken

The curry beef cheek here is good but inconsistent because sometimes the beef would be soft and gelatinous and sometimes the beef would be dry.

Lemon chicken:

This time went for the lemon chicken which didn't look like lemon chicken. It looked more like grilled chicken and the lemon sauce tasted really artificial.

The famous roast pork at Mott 32

After trying the Turkey, I was back for the roast pork and other dishes.

Here was what I had:

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Virgin On Leong Tea :
Osmanthus and oolong tea, passion fruit and guava
This was a refreshing blend of tea and passionfruit.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Kurobuta pork, crab & caviar Shanghainese soup dumplings :
Each dumpling was bursting with soup and the filling was tasty and hot with lovely caviar on top.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Kurobuta pork, soft quail egg, black truffle siu mai :

The siu mai had to be eaten quickly before the quail egg yolk got cooked.
It was delicious with creamy quail egg yolk and fragrant truffle.

Signature crispy sugar coated BBQ Spanish Terual pork bun:
The crispy buns had a delicate top with delicious sweet pork filling in the middle.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Crispy roasted pork belly :
Each piece was crispy and delicious.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Barbecue prime Iberico pork with mountain honey:
After trying it, I definitely fell in love with it because the pork was soft and the surface with a little bit crispy and charred with a divine sweet coating.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Sauteed asparagus, water chestnuts and gingko nuts:
To finish off, we had vegetables which were a crunchy mix of asparagus and waterchestnuts.

Scones at La Bohéme Bakery

I was drawn to the counter because of the pistachio cakes but then I was attracted to the scones because they had four different flavours.

I was told the square ones were American ones and the round ones were British scones.

I wanted to get the British scones but they didn't look appetizing so I went for the cinnamon and walnut scone which was the square one.

Walnut cinnamon scone:

The scone tasted quite nice with a strong cinnamon taste and pieces of walnuts in it but it was the dough taste was too heavy.

$30 Daily value set lunch Café de Coral

I rarely go to Cafe de Coral because the queues are long, food is over priced for a self service restaurant.

Only went because of the $30 Daily value set lunch which is how much I feel their food is really worth.

The daily set consists of grilled pork slices with tempura and a drink.

Anyway $30 is about right for some canned sweetcorn, zucchini, pork slices and a piece of tempura which means that the Butadon pork bowl at Dondonya Shokudo is way over priced.

Started off with the Jasmine tea and it was foul, it tasted like Jasmine toilet spray.
(The choices of drinks were the usual Chinese stuff which I do not like.)

Apart from the toilet spray, the pork was really good!!

Each slice of pork was evenly sliced, it was soft, lean and juicy and didn't have a charred taste nor was it too sweet.
The vegetables were healthy because they were plainly boiled and unseasoned.

It was great how they did not put too much soy sauce on the rice and the side of chopped spring onions made the rice tastier.
The vegetable tempura cake was a bit soft though but as a whole the portion size for everything was reasonable.

Honey cake

Thank to KC for this Honey cake, again Shatin was too far but now they have a pop up shop at K11.

Anyway, I got this cake before the pop up shop.

The cake was really nice, packaged nicely in a box which kept its freshness.
As for the cake, it was soft and you could smell the honey as well as taste it.

Tasteless and oily

The food here is expensive but unfortunately the food doesn't match up to it.

Tried the lamb and leek which was mega disappointing because the leeks were old and stringy and the lamb was tasteless.
I was expecting some bold spices and herbs but it was just leeks and onions.
The rice beneath is was too soft and oily.
