Sweet potato latte at Summer Ice

There were still items that I wanted to try so went back for them.

Purple potato affogato:



The icecream just tasted like the usual softserve which was quite sweet and the purple potato sauce just made it sweeter.

Hot purple potato latte:

Compared to the one at Gaba concept, this one tasted quite artificial because of the purple potato syrup.

Artsy fare before visiting the art fair

Before visiting Hotel art asia and Art Central, I started my art journey here with a meal designed by Nicolas Boutin to celebrate Hong Kong art week which is a five course meal that costs $1488.
Here were two of the five courses that I had.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
L'art du pot au feu:
Beef short rib, multi coloured vegetables, garden leaves and black truffle.
It was beautifully and colourfully presented with a round piece of beef topped with vibrant vegetables and black truffle slices on top.




Beef consomme is poured onto it.



The beef consomme was clear and light tasting like Bovril.
On the menu, it says the beef is short rib but the texture and taste was soft like beef belly.

autour du pinceau:
This was such a fun dessert to play with and eat because you get to paint it with sauces using a Pentel paintbrush and the dessert was also delicious.



The paints (fruit sauces) were mango, berries, pistachio and strawberry.

It was really fun to paint but more brushes are needed or a pot to wash your brushes because you end up mixing the colours.


The light colours were a bit too opaque when they were painted so I ended up pouring it on the plate to get a bolder colour.
As for the berry sauce, the colour was a bit like blood


The dessert was surprisingly good because I liked the strong citrus centre with real pieces of tart blood orange encased in a light meringue shell decorated with light cream.

As it is a competition and the flavours are random, it is hard to review it here but the one I had was sweet and fruity!

My first negative comment for 豆花妹撈米線

This is my first negative comment for this place because it is normally good and I have been here more than once, but on this visit the sauce was just sweet and made it taste horrible so I think they may have mistaken the sugar for salt.



Hope they get it right next time.

Grapefruit green tea from cha FOR TEA

I was attracted by the poster of ruby red grapefruit green tea so I got it.

Grapefruit green tea:

I chose the 30% level of sweetness so it was not too sweet and I could still taste the tartness of the grapefruit.
It was really good because there were bits of grapefruit in the drink and the balance of green tea and juice was equal.

Fried chicken with Chimichurri sauce at Iberico & Co. (Central)

Initially came here for the brunch but the options available were not really exciting so I went for the a la carte items.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Crispy chicken legs with Chimichurri sauce:

I love chimichurri sauce which was why I chose this.
When it came, there was a generous amount of chimichurri sauce so I was happy.
The chicken was a bit too crispy and hard because it was overdone otherwise it would have been delicious and I wished the chimichurri sauce had more lime juice in it.

A quick drink at Fiat Caffé

After having some grilled food, I was pretty thirsty so came here for drinks.



I missed the fig drink so I ordered that and had the caramel tea because it was different.

Caramel tea by Dammann freres:


It did not taste sweet but had a really sweet caramel smell that is just like the Highland toffee tea at Shortbread Teas .

Honey figs margarita:

It was ruby red garnished with a sprig of mint on top.
The drink was really refreshing and not syrupy followed by the lovely fizzyness of the carbonated water and bits of sweet blended fig.

My thirst was satisfied!!
