Came here ages ago with my friend.
The restaurant was hip and modern with creative dishes.
Had the Sweet and sour pork with pineapple buns.
The sweet and sour pork was served in this really cute saucepan.
Curry beef brisket:
The curry brisket was my favourite, I loved the creamy curry sauce which you put on the tartlets.
Both dishes were great fun because there was a fun DIY factor to it.
The only downside was the portion size.

Yoshinoya's new pork bowl
I am not a fan of beef so when this new pork bowl was launched for tea, I had to give it a try.

Pork bowl:
The pork is thinly sliced just like the beef with sweet sauce poured on top which I did not like.
I prefer lean pork but luckily the pickles helped to cut the oilyness of the fat.

It can't get any more RAW than this at Mana! Raw
Discovered this place after dining at the Butchers Club.
They offer lots of raw juices so tried the CHI.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
chi:
This was a blend of red cabbage, cauliflower, kale and carrots
It had a strong grassy taste with a bitter tone to it.

Retro snack joint at 容媽媽
I was attracted to this joint by the stall like décor, which has an old twist to it.
There were lots of things to choose from and I was tempted to get the noodles but as I was having dinner I opted for the fried inside out tofu puffs stuffed with cuttlefish.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
tofu puffs stuffed with cuttlefish:
They looked exactly like the inside out tofu puffs at Cheung Chau but they weren’t as tasty because the cuttlefish patty was evidently a cuttlefish ball that was rubbery and tasteless.
Anyway, there was a side of Chinese sweet sauce which made the crispy tofu delicious.
They also had fried beancurd rolls stuffed with cuttlefish which probably taste better than these tofu puffs so if I am around here again I hope to try their noodles and beancurd rolls.

KFC: New potato crisp fried chicken
Having a good fried chicken always depends on luck, being there at the right time and moment that the batch of fried chicken is done.
Anyway, went there for the new potato crisp fried chicken and blueberry Portuguese tart.
I could only get the chicken because the tart was sold out.
The fried chicken was good that day because it was juicy and the coating was even.
You could smell crisps when you ate the chicken and taste Mexican cajun spices and paprika but it was spicy as well.

Improved but could be better
Since the last visit, there are more options such as tofu pieces and more noodle choices but they still don’t have instant noodles as an option.
The broth has improved because it was less salty but I still don’t like their noodles because the texture is too dough like. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Expat’s secret in Sai Kung
As well as SK, there is a bigger branch in Wan Chai, but the Wan Chai one is probably better.
Anyway, as there were not many good Western food choices for in SK, I ended up here.
It was filled with expats and more expats came for late night curries.
I ordered the rice with peas and mushrooms and a Malai, which the waiter said was a popular dish with the locals. I knew it was not going to be my cup of tea after he said that because the dish was going to be sweet and it was, but I just liked the potato croquettes, which were rather sticky and chewy.
The rice was not tasty on its own because it needed curry to go with it but without the curry it was just salty with a strong cardamom taste.
