I was recommended this place which I thought was expensive because it is located at the Heritage 1881, but the abalone lunch set only costs $198 on weekdays and $268 on the weekends.
As I have been mostly eating out on the Hong Kong side, I have forgotten that food on the Kowloon side is cheaper!!!
Here were the items in the set!!
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Abalone cooked in sake, smoked tofu vegetable rolls and Beef shin in fives spices.
清酒煮原隻鮑魚、京式煙燻素鵝、五香金錢牛腱
The abalone was sweet and springy with a nice infusion of sake in the taste and the tofu rolls were good too because it was loaded with julienne vegetables.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
麻辣小籠包
Sichuan steamed xiao long bao
The xiao long bao was pleasant to eat because it was not too spicy.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
木瓜薏米無花果燉豬腱
Soup with jobs tears and pork
This was a nourishing soup with a lovely sweet taste owing to the figs and the jobs tears were firm with some chew.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
法國鵝肝百花煎釀雞翼
Chicken wings stuffed with prawn paste drizzled in black pepper sauce
This was a meaty chicken wing complemented by the fiery yet sweet black pepper sauce.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
五十頭日本吉品乾鮑魚鵝掌伴生麵
Noodles with goose feet and abalone
The beauty of this was the rich abalone sauce which covered every strand of noodle and the abalone was springy with a sugary aftertaste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
As well as the set, we had some a la carte dishes!!
翡翠麻香牛肉 $108/6pcs
Crispy beef in spicy sauce
The beef was sweet and crunchy
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
東坡肉伴哈蜜瓜 $58
Tung po style pork belly
I don't normally eat this because I hate fatty pork but the sauce was lovely, it was sweet and sour which made the pork appetizing.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
黑松露西施瑤柱
Stir fried glass vermicelli with scrambled egg and truffle
I loved the delicate glass vermicelli which was springy and satisfying with pieces of egg and fragrant truffle.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
原隻鮑魚酥
Abalone puff
Again, a lovely abalone on puff pastry!
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
香滑芝麻糕 $30/3pcs
Black sesame pudding
The pudding was quite likeable because the texture was gritty with finely grounded black sesame and the pudding was not too sweet.

Abalone deluxe lunch sets at Prince Restaurant
Vanilla Mille feulle at Vanilla
I haven't been here for a while so decided to get something sweet.
Tried the strawberry mille feuille which was filled with strawberry slices and vanilla custard.
It was nice but I found the vanilla custard too buttery and the mille feuille was too sweet as a whole.

Japanese inspired jellies at Hui Lau Shan Healthy Dessert
I am not a regular of Hui Lau Shan but went there to try this new jelly dessert that has flowers in it.
There are three different types of flowers in the jelly which are dusted with green tea powder or mung bean powder.
The labelling of the jelly series were awful because it does not indicate what the three different flowers are.
The desserts cost $17 takeaway or $22 dine in.
When you dine there, THEY ARE MEANT to serve the pudding with the flower side up and sprinkle powder on top like the picture but at this branch she just gave me a spoon which is ludicrous because I was paying for takeaway food at dine in prices.
She finally put it in a dessert bowl when I asked about the green tea powder, otherwise I would have been conned for green tea powder.
Even so, they should give you green tea powder with the takeaway.
Flower lovers will be disappointed at the lack of floral taste but it was ok for me because I can’t stand the taste of flowers and the bitterness of the green tea powder was good to balance the sweetness of the jelly.
As for the texture of the jelly, it was firm and chewy like konjac.

Buffet warzone at Kimberley hotel
Discovered this place after I dined at one of the restaurants in this hotel.
Went to the afternoon buffet but there were lots of people there because they were doing the group buy offer.
The food was average and cheap but it was gone within a few minutes.
They also had Haagen Daaz icecream and it was interesting to watch people take all the flavours back to their table and ask their friends/family to select the flavours they wanted and then bring back the unwanted flavours to the freezer.

The plates were gone in a flash too and every time a stack of plates were brought out, they were bloody hot to pick up!
The only item I found worth sharing was the jelly roll which reminded me of an Artic roll filled with icecream. It was nice they had a dessert that was different and the pairing of strawberry jelly and sponge tasted quite nice.

Vrooom Booom brunch Tea party at Fiat Caffé
As well as good food, they serve fine teas by The London tea company so we had quite a few teas because we were there for brunch.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Herbal infusion:
The name is not what it seems, I was expecting herbs such as lemongrass but it was Roobois which has a smoky burnt taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Fruit infusions:
For this one I was expecting citrus fruit but it had a strong Lemongrass fragrance with a fruity taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Tropical infusion:
The tropical infusion was my favourite because it had sweet notes with a hint of pineapple.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Grilled black cod filet and lentils:
For mains I had the grilled cod which was tender and flakey paired nicely with the appetizing lentils in tomato sauce.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Spring chicken with grilled vegetables:
The chicken was part of the brunch option which is light and tasty rubbed with aromatic rosemary.

Eating radiators AT Linguini Fini
Went here again for pasta.
After my previous experience I rejected the bottle of water because you get charged for it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Radiatore alla Vodka:
Named Radiatore because the pasta resembles a radiator!
It was Radiatore pasta in a spicy nduja laced cream which I found a bit too salty and spicy but it was worth trying because not many places in HK have nduja.
The other place that has it is Jacomax where they have pizzas topped with nduja sauce.

purple series at Arome bakery
Just some random desserts I had at Arome bakery
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Sweet purple potato cup:
This was a delicious desserts but at some branches, some of them are dehydrated because the mochi was hard and dry and the mousse has gone a darker colour where it has been dehydrated.
The jelly bits in the dessert were nice though.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Strawberry dessert cup:
The strawberry mousse was better than expected because it tasted natrual.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Mango cake:
Not a fan of mango and the cake tasted too sweet.
