Back for more chicken mole and paella

Went here again for the chicken mole and paella because I was craving for rice.

For both dishes, the rice was a bit hard.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Chicken mole:
The chicken was a bit dry and chewy.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Mexican seafood paella:
The rice was flavourful but not as flavourful as my first visit because it lacked prawn taste in it.
After adding lime to it, the rice tasted so much better.

3.9 Australian Milk Roll by Maxims

I really like this Swiss roll because it is pretty and it tastes good.
The reason I like it is because it tastes NORMAL or WESTERN style in Chinese terms because the cream is normal smooth whipped cream that does not have this weird savoury taste.
They have used Australian milk instead of Hokkaido milk which is getting quite boring these days because they have it everywhere.

3.9 Australian Milk Roll:

The roll is filled with delicious light creamy cream with pieces of milk pudding in it and the overall taste is very creamy with a sweet taste and scent that reminds me of white rabbit sweets.

Molten scotch egg sandwiches at Sunday's Grocery

This was my third visit and I was compelled to come here because of the Scotch sando which is a sandwich with a molten scotch egg in the middle.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Scotch sando:

The fried items never fail here and they are always fried perfectly.
As you can see the yolk is runny with a vibrant orange colour.

It was easy to eat too because the scotch egg was neatly rested on the sandwich bun so it wasn't flimsy to handle.
Anyway eat bite was amazing because you ended up with egg white, egg yolk, the bun and the scotch egg.
The scotch egg tasted slightly different but it was divine because you could taste pepper and onions which made it moreish which was then enhanced by the scrummy egg yolk.

Black curry ramen at Ippudo

Saw these captivating photos of the black curry ramen so decided to have it.

There are two ramens that are not to be confused.
Black ramen and black curry ramen.
The black ramen broth is made with black garlic paired with thick noodles and the black curry ramen broth is made with squid ink and curry powder paired with ramen of medium thickness.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
black curry ramen:

They will give you a disposable paper apron to protect your clothes when you eat.
The curry broth tasted really familiar and then I realized it tasted the same as Nissins curry cupnoodles with a spicier tone.

I also ordered the mini bowl of rice with potato which tasted amazing when I poured the remaining broth on to it because it tasted like rice with squid ink with a hint of curry.

Super oily at Hung Kee Seafood Restaurant

Again I did not choose this place but went here for dimsum which is pretty annoying because you have to go and get them yourselves.

Shortly after dim sum I wanted to throw up because the food was too oily.

The taro croquette was the only item I liked because the taro filling was really tasty and velvety but the coating was too oily.

Boiled plants!!
I don't know why in HK they serve vegetables just as they are without cutting them into smaller pieces.

The worst dimsum was the steamed buns, the bun was so dry and dense that you had difficulty swallowing them and it seems that HKers can't produce decent bread or steamed buns because I think they lack self raising powder in the recipe!!
The beancurd prawn rolls were weird, they contained Chinese celery which ruined the taste.
Out of all the beancurd prawn rolls I have tried, this was the first to contain it!
However in Sai Kung, there are many weird dishes such as lobster and cheese cooked with ginger.

Hidden peace and quiet @ Prime Deli

This place is well hidden! It has been here for at least a year and no one has bothered to review it.
Anyway, it was my second time and the decor is much nicer and they have these bright and bold glasses which look out of place in this wet market!

1
There are orange and green glasses as well but I think blue is the best for Hong Kong milk tea!

0
It was creative that they had a grill on top of a portable stove to turn it into Korean style grill!

1
I had the scrambled egg with prawns and it was surprisingly delicious, the egg was fluffy with succulent prawns.
There was a small amout of Msg which made it taste good but not abused.

Back for more fried dumplings at Northern Dumpling Yuan

Went here before going to the famous place next door for Chinese style French toast.

The dumplings tasted even better than the CWB branch because they were lightly fried and the filling was juicy and delicious.

I was given soup as well which goes really well with the dumplings.
