Claypot rice at 紹華小廚

I rarely eat claypot rice because the smelly claypot makes the rice stink.
Anyway, tried this place because there are quite a lot of postive comments.

Before trying the food, the choices on the menu are quite good, they had modern ones such as lamb and cumin, spicy seafood and the traditional ones such as preserved sausage and taro mash.

Anyway, ordered the preserved sausage and taro mash and the lamb and cumin.

Both were good because they did not have that smelly pot smell.
The rice was hot and fragrant flavoured by the delicious soy sauce and the claypot toppings were good too.
Although I liked it, it gets me wondering why people like it? The tasty toppings or because the pot doesn't smell?

Dry and hard pontikeges at Hoixe Cake Shop

Got some pontikeges from here because they looked good but they were dry and hard.
The cheese was weird because it was sweet and you couldn't taste any cheese so why it is cheese flavoured.

To be honest, they were a bit overpriced especially when they don't taste good.

Gnocchi at The Drunken Duck

I have always wanted to dine here but there seem to be lots to choose from but not a lot that I can choose because quite a lot of the choices have Korean ingredients which are too spicy for me.

The lunches that they do are great but they are only available from Mondays to Fridays.

The tempting lunch dishes I wanted to try were:
Onion Bhajis with Mint Jelly
Duck Broth with Soba Noodles
Split green pea soup
Miso salmon with bubble and squeak
Roast Lemon & Cinnamon Chicken with Asian Greens and Chips,
Neal's Yard Brie with Sesame Crackers
Green Tea infused Chocolate Mousse with fresh cream and chopped almond topping.
Beef & Duck Cottage Pie with 5-spiced Gravy

Other great appetizers with a British touch that I plan to try later.
Bombay roasties
Broccoli, goats cheese and sweet potato samosa
Thai style scotch egg which I like but I don't like the lemongrass in it..
Tikka spiced meatballs
Roast lamb and mint dumplings
Steak and kidney pot stickers

The brunch was quite pricey and it looked confusing.

For appetizers, the options were really good but I needed a full meal so went for the gnocchi which is now on the social plate menu hence the portion was small.
++++++++++++++++
RICOTTA and Morning glory gnocchi with roasted chilli essence, parmesan cream.

On the plate, there were four big pieces of gnocchi.
The gnocchi was quite creamy but it had a strong salty taste and it was not too spicy.

Freaky pumpkin pie at McDonald's

McDonald’s have launched a pumpkin pie for Halloween.

Inside the pie it was filled with vibrant orange custard like filling.

The pumpkin filling did not taste bad and it had pieces of pumpkin in it but they were a bit too hard with a slight raw taste.
I wish they added cinnamon to the filling and then it would taste more like American pumpkin pies.
For burgers, there was the pineapple cajun burger but in Chinese it was called Pineapple black pepper burger.

Anyway, you could see lots of black pepper on the chicken but luckily the coating was heavily coated in cajun powder.
The initial taste was really good because it tastes like southern style chicken was cajun flavouring but the black pepper really spoils it.

Bathing chicken 一流一沖涼雞 at 一流一海南雞外賣專門店

Ordered the bathing chicken 沖涼雞, which is literally what the menu says in Chinese.

It turned out really nice but shame the rice was rubbish because I got a mix of extremely hard dry rice as well as mushy congee.

As for the chicken, it tasted really good because the sauce was not spicy as it looked yet it had a strong vinegar and garlic taste just like the shandong chicken at this restaurant in Wan Chai.

A mix of noodles and rice at Food Yunnan

Went to this place again because I was in the area.

Saw this weird rice and noodle dish so tried it.

Had the fried rice with salted egg and chicken but it did not taste as nice as the previous visit because it was a bit oily this time.

The rice and noodles was weird and has that usual metallic wok taste.

TAP The Ale Project's exclusive Tong chong toast

Went to the Tong Chong Street market and tried the Tong chong toast which is an exclusive toast served by TAP The Ale Project at the market.

There were samples of the food.

The Tong Chong toast was a thick sliced sourdough drizzled with stout infused condensed milk topped with shredded coconut and salted peanuts.
I liked it because the toast was light and airy with sweet condensed milk that gave it sweetness topped with fragrant coconut and peanuts.

I also tried the Lap Cheong Beer schmear which is a paste made with local duck liver and pork sausage pate.
It tasted like a Chinese pate with Chinese wine and red fermented beancurd flavours infused in the paste.
