[Review] Eggless Cakes at Golden Cake in Walthamstow

I am not a vegetarian but have an addiction to cakes and tea which I am sure everyone would as well.
As I was in Walthamstow, I discovered Golden Cake which serves Halal, eggless and 100% vegetarian cakes.

There were so many cake slices to choose from and they were only £2 per slice which is the cheapest and prettiest that I have seen so far because they are cut from round cake while some shops like Cake Box serves rectangular slices.

Since I couldn't decide between the caramel cake and the blackforest cake, I got both!!!
Both were soft and fluffy like chiffon but slightly firmer in texture.

The caramel cake totally stole the show, it was light and sweet complimented by the cream.

The black forest was also good but strangely I found it sweeter than the caramel.

The lady there was really friendly as she offered to add more hot water for the tea and asked me if I wanted the door closed because I was sitting by the door.

[Restaurant Review] Japanese apple donut at Neds Noodle

As well as noodles, Neds Noodle serves sweet treats as well.
There were these captivating Japanese donuts filled with custard or apple coated in a chai sugar.
It was definitely intriguing, so I went back to the old street branch since they serve tea as well.

When the donut came, the shape was odd, after turning it round, I realized it was a fried Taiwanese guo bao stuff with apple coated in sugar.
Although, the colour was a bit dark, it actually tasted really nice so I really recommend it.

Whoopie Pie at L'Hirondelle

Not many places in UK has the whoopie pie but you can get them at L'Hirondelle in Walthamstow.

Camden Bakery

Update August 2022
Since my last visit, Camden Bakery has changed the layout and it is not self service anymore.
The doughnuts and cinnamon pretzels are a must try however rainbow cake was not that good.
I tried the apple custard doughnut and it was amazing so was the cinnamon pretzel.
I like the way all their filled doughnuts are sliced in the middle with the fillings spread on.
The custard was not too sweet and the apple filling was amazing.
Last but not least, the sugar cinnamon coating on the donut was a bomb!
The only issue was the oil so I recommended leaving the donut for a few hours to let the oil soak through the paper bag and then eat it.

The cinnamon pretzel had a nice chew yet it tastes just like a doughnut!
Very very satisfying.

Rainbow cake with tea.
Unfortunately the cake was a bit dry and I didn't like the waxy cream.

March 2020
A wonderful bakery in Camden that offers dine in.
Everything is self service and they have delicious cherry danishes, rainbow cake, red velvet cake, hot dishes to salads.

[Cafe Review] Fabler in Camden

There are so many cafes in Camden and the two that caught my eyes that day were Camden Bakery and Fabler.
Camden Bakery was tempting because of the rainbow cakes but ended up going to Fabler which was nice and quiet.

I went to Fabler because the Cheese and Spinach slice was captivating and I fancied something savoury that moment.

Overall, I really enjoyed my cheese and spinach slice with a cup of tea.
The tables and chairs inside were comfy and cold water was available as well as wifi.

Hook Fish and Chips, Camden

I didn't get to try this Fish and Chip shop but I felt that this chippie in Hong Kong called Hooked on Caine Road was inspired by Hook, Camden because of the Tempura batter.
However, this is on my eat list because they have these really creative batters like Lemon and Basil tempura and a wide range of sauces.
