[Review] Market Tavern Croydon

Yorkshire wraps were the trend a few years ago with beef basically wrapped in a Yorkshire like a wrap but made with Yorkshire pudding.

Since the Market Tavern in Croydon had it, I decided to go in and try it.
They also do Monday to Friday specials like other pubs .
As it was Wednesday, my friend had the pie deal and I had the wrap.

Unfortunately, my wrap was a disappointment because the beef was dry and chewy.
There was an option for chips or jacket so I chose the jacket because I had a feeling the chips could be over done which was the case for my friends chips so I was glad I chose the jacket.
However the jacket was evidently frozen baked potatoes reheated for convenience because I have bought these before which have a dry and powdery texture.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend it or come here again.

W H Wellbeloved Butchers, Deptford, Since 1829

Spotted this shop as I was crossing the road so went there to check it out.
Definitely a lovely butcher shop that has been here since 1829.
When you go in, you are greeted with this heavenly whiff of delicious pies.
The meats at the front look good as well as the black puddings.

Percy Ingle, Deptford High Street

The biggest branch of Percy Ingle that used to sit people.
I wish they still do because it would be lovely to eat their delicious cakes and bakes there with tea.

Almost thought this was Burger King but it was Chicken King!

[Review] Revisiting F Cooke in Hoxton for Tea

Went here a few years ago for my first pie mash.
It was really memorable back then because this was the only pie mash shop that has sawdust on the floor.

The taste of the pie mash here is another memorable one because the liquor tastes like blended watercress with a touch of grassiness.
The beef in the pie is coarsely minced but contains a few chewy bits.

There is another F Cooke in Dalston which has been taken over and now sells other food in the same name although they also have pie mash on the menu.
On this visit, it was also memorable because you have to sanitize your hands due to Covid.
The menu is the same but they also have vegan pie mash.
This time I only had tea but I felt that I should have it here than have it in a fancy cafe.
F Cooke has also been on TV for the Remembrance Day commercial.
