Afghan dinner at Masa

Along this stretch, there are two Afghan restaurants, Masa and Mazar but we chose Mazar.
The menu is the usual with meats, dumplings and a few similar to Indian offerings like spinach, spinach potatoes but spelt in a different way.
We had the meat and veg dumplings, both were tasty but I felt the meat was more satisfying while the veg was underfilled.
Both plates, all the dumplings were stuck together when served so you end up breaking up.
The spinach was nice but it was spicy and it tasted like canned spinach.
Other than that, it was good and service was friendly.

France: Gazpacho at Pret A Manger

When going abroad, as well as searching for local restaurants to try I always like to check out international chains like McDonald's, KFC etc.
McDonald's review coming but here is Pret first.
Pret is France is definitely worth checking out, I thought we had it all in UK but they have much more offerings like the gazpacho, not one but two to choose from.
Then there are houmous bowls, salmon bowls with black rice to protein bowls.
I loved the way how they have used glass bowls and cups to display the food and beverages which can then be reused.
The staff at the counter was from UK which made it even more welcoming but everything is labelled in English so it's not a problem and growing up in the UK, French is compulsory at school.
Left with the gazpacho which was seriously refreshing and moreish on a hot summers day.

Salmon avocado at Beppe's Cafe

Beppe's, a lovely old caff in Farringdon.I have always wanted to visit this cafe so finally did when I was in the area.
The decor takes you back in time and there are many old money paper notes at the back.
I had the salmon, avocado with black pudding which turned out really nice especially the salmon.
The avocado was more like guacamole as it was a tad spicy but went well with the salmon and black pudding.
I liked the way, they garnished it with their unique side which makes them different.

Pacific Fish Bar, Custom House

The fish and chips serve at this place were the greasy type of fish and chips.
Chips were ready when ordered so was the fish.
Discovered Pacific Fish Bar while I was in the area and I seriously had to try it because it has been there for decades from the decor tell tale signs.
The cod was definitely memorable as it was super soft and silky like garoupa where the fish flakes literally melt like fibres.
Nevertheless tasty because the cod still had the skin attached which gives it flavour.
Although the chips were a little greasy, it held the salt and vinegar well.
Will be back for more.
