Shake Shack opens at St Pancras

A few weeks ago, Shake Shack opened at St Pancras were they were giving away custard and free fries.
I only dined there recently because of the new Green Curry menu where I had the Green curry fries and Thai Tea Shake.
The fries come with green curry mayo, ale marinated shallots and spring onion.
It was on the salty side but it was nice especially the mayonnaise which was gingery with a mild heat.
The Thai tea was also nice because it was not as strong or as sweet as the authentic Thai teas ones which taste funny.
Overall, glad I tried.

Etles Uyghur Restaurant, Walthamstow

Another Urghur restaurant which is off the radar but nice.
It was a bit pricey considering it was not in Central London.
Anyway, tried the Diced Leghmen with Lamb, Liangfen and Etken Chay Uyghur Tea.
The Leghmen or Legmen is basically pulled noodles.
Here they serve proper pulled noodles which you can tell from the texture while some restaurants just use pre made udon.
The one we had was diced noodles [chopped] which is chunky cubes of noodles.
The liangfen beans noodles was like jelly but the sauce needed more depth as it was just spicy, garlicky and tangy, it needed some umami like soy sauce.
For drinks, had the Etken Chay which is salted tea served in a bowl which I found really similar to Nepalese butter tea which is also salty.
The Etken tea was to my liking as it was savoury and the tea base was very much like Earl Grey without the bergamot.
Overall, glad I tried and worth trying if you are in the area.
Currently, there are two branches, one in Walthamstow and the other North West.

Mike's Fish and Chips, Essex Road, Angel

Nice chips, not dry and seasoned well with salt and vinegar.

Picturesque eatery by the canal - Towpath Cafe

Finally dined at the Towpath which is open from Weds to Sun.
Menu changes daily subject to availabilty.
As expected the menu on Sunday was limited and not as good because it is the last day they are open until they reopen on Wednesday.
Anyway just to tick the box, had the whole artichoke and green salad.

Lush Poetry Pharmacy

I'm so glad this is here, it is so much better in terms of drinks offerings than the previous one.

M&S Café new grazing platters

M&S Café new items: grazing platters, rhubarb raspberry frappe, banana loaf toast.
The grazing platter features a selection of cheeses, stuffed olives, semi-dried tomatoes, rocket, houmous and soft Greek-style flatbreads.
Meat platter includes a range of delicious cured meats like chorizo.
It was nice but with an English palate I would like to see a platter with crackers, brie, cheddar and dried fruits.

Thai fruit shaped desserts called Luk Chup by House of Kanom

These are agar coated fruit shaped desserts filled with silky mung bean paste.
Visually very nice and colourful especially the mangosteen.
They weren't bad, however I found them too sweet with a toilet type/incense/Indian Jasmine/Thai Jasmine aroma that is floral but in a nice way infused in the mung bean paste.
The texture of the agar jelly was like hard boiled egg white with a bit of resistance.
It was like eating a sweet hard boiled quail egg with the agar like the egg white and the starchy filling was similar to hard boiled yolk.
Overall ok but I don't have an Asian palette for sweet things.
