[Review] Roosters Spot - Croydon

I think I have been here a few years ago but I was too lazy to write it up so I am posting this visit while I remember.
The fried chicken is mostly good in London if it is done right.

Had the spicy wings and a piece of fried chicken.

The wings were very spicy and moist so it was really good, just a tad spicy but forgivable.

The chicken drumstick was just a little bit dry but I believe if I got it earlier then it wouldn't have been so dry.

[Review] Hidden Coffee near Camden overground

Discovered Hidden Coffee while I was looking for Camden Road Railway Station.

As I had an hour to go before meeting my friend, I went in for some tea.
There was a good choice of teas and the best thing is that they serve leaf teas and not tea bags.

Wifi was available so it was great spending my time there.

Cubé Café near Camden Town

I was in Camden Town a while ago looking for tea and they had just that.
Unfortunately, they ran out of scones so didn't have the cream teas otherwise it would have been perfect.
Overall a nice and quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of Camden town.

[Review] Vegan Fried chicken at Temple of Hackney

To be honest the name of this place is quite confusing.
Initially I knew of it as Temple of Seitan but now it seems to be called Temple of Hackney.

Anyway, Seitan, not the devil Satan is wheat gluten which first appeared during the 6th century as an ingredient for Chinese noodles.

I was really excited in trying this place because of all the good comments and I wanted to compare it to the vegan fried chicken that I had at 2DP in Hong Kong.

On the menu were burgers, strips and wings.

Local drinks:

I went for the wings with buffalo sauce as chips are just chips.

It was definitely impressive as the coating was crispy and it adhered to the seitan well.

Taking a bite, the texture was good and the taste was full on from the buffalo sauce which was tangy and slightly spicy.

The only complaint was that it was too salty but otherwise all good.

[Review] Vegan Fish and Chips at Suttons and Son Fish and Chips

A while ago, heard about Suttons and Son Fish and Chips serving vegan fish so decided to try it out.
There are different kinds of vegan fish these days, some are made with tofu called tofush but the one at Suttons is all natrual made with Banana Blossom.
There are a few branches of Suttons but as I wanted to try vegan chicken at Temple of Hackney, I went to this branch so I could eat everything on the same trip.

If you have seen Banana Blossom before, it is just the flower bud of the banana tree similar to bamboo shoot tips so I would imagine it tasting like that.

Anyway, it was how I expected, a whole banana blossom coated in batter and the texture and taste was similar to bamboo shoot tips.

Basically, it flakes like fish and it had a salty aftertaste but if the banana blossom is old and dry, it can taste a bit woody.

As well as vegan fish and chips, they also have a separate Vegan menu which is good!
They are also serving a vegan doner which I really want to try.

The decor of this place is quite nice.

Will be back to try the vegan doner!!

The best chips with Curry sauce in STRATFORD, inshops [Rainbow English And Chinese Fast Food]

Rainbow English And Chinese Fast Food has been here for at least 20 years or longer.

Although it is a Chinese Fast Food, I go there for chips in curry sauce.
It is really impressive how they have been consistently delicious in terms of the chips and curry sauce.
The last time I visited was in 2016.

Every time I go there, the chips are slightly crispy on the outside drenched in delicious sweet curry sauce that is not cloyingly sweet.
Yet every chips is fluffy in the middle.

The most amazing thing is that you every chip is covered in a glaze of curry sauce, even the last chip and the chips at the bottom of the dish!!
There is something magic about the curry sauce in that you wouldn't call it a sauce as it does not really drip apart from at the beginning.
Anyway, you can think of it like Poutine with curry sauce.

Finished with a Chinese Tea which was quite nice.

A customer who drove an hours drive for their food!
